Nice for the price

The local Fred's stopped reliably carrying their Belgian Waffle Butter Crisps. I just needed something small and inexpensive for occasional use. I didn't want to spend $50+, and $28 irons to use on my coil stove burner were only a few dollars less than this. The recipe in the guide was good, but browning was inconsistent. It was hard to get them evenly brown without them getting overcooked in parts. And if undercooked in parts, those parts wouldn't be crispy enough. I found a different recipe that used more sugar, and another with white sugar, brown sugar, and honey. Both of those produced cones with more even browning, and all of them were light and crispy, not too hard, but sturdy enough for a lot of ice cream. Another trick was to flip them over halfway through. I thought that would mess up the waffles lines, but it didn't. They just cooked better. I usually just make small discs and add them to ice cream in a bowl, but I do know some people who like cones. These are so cheap to make. This appliance will pay for itself in no time. I should have gotten one years ago.

Glad I bought this

I'm always leery of electronics, with so many shoddy products on the market. This one is a winner for me. I bought it to make snacks that would keep my husband from buying tortilla chips. Works great for me. I like the temp control, the size of the waffles, and the non-stick coating. You don't have to use the suggested recipes. I made a great, keto friendly flax-almond flour-cheese waffle for snacking or accompanying a meal. The only con so far is that the steam from wet mixtures will eventually collect and drip onto the work surface creating a tiny puddle, when making a large batch, but not a big deal. If using a mixture with cheese in it, you'll want to wipe off the oil that melts out after each waffle is removed. Some of my recipes don't get crispy right out of the waffle maker, so I'll put several trays in my dehydrator to crisp up, then store in a sealed jar.

Worked well with g-free waffle cone

The reason I wanted a waffle cone maker was because I could not find g-free waffle cones in the stores. Typically g-free sticks in regular waffle makers but this one worked great. It didn't stick and created great result. Very satisfied.

Does the job but uneven cooking

Does what it is supposed to do but could be better. Cooks unevenly. Outer edges are much lighter than the center. More so than I would like. The recipe that come with it works well. Ice cream eating buddies all liked the waffle bowls.

Made delicious, wonderful waffle cups

I used the recipe that came with this Proctor Silex Waffle cone maker and they came out great. I need more practice making the cones but the bowls were wonderful and so easy to make. I put about 3 tablespoons of batter in the machine, had it set between min and max, waited 3 minutes ( I didn't go by the lights) and put the waffle in the cup maker. Delicious and easy.
