Better than expected

I was buying coffee on the daily and I actually love the taste of black coffee. This product works so well. I am saving money and enjoying my coffee. Although, because I am a procrastinator…. I need 2. It really does need 24 hours to make the best coffee… as advertised.

Makes good coffee, but…

I have two cold-brew coffee makers. This coffee maker makes the most robust cold brew I have had. With my other pitcher, the coffee grounds float to the top of the filter, so it’s weaker. I love the design, and the glass pitcher helps the coffee get cold quicker. The downfall of this pitcher is it leaks grounds. So I have to filter the coffee before I can drink it. It isn't very convenient and slows down my morning routine. Also the top of my pitcher is loose, so sometimes, when pouring the coffee, some will leak down the side.

be careful

this product makes great coffee, it does everything the seller claims. the only drawback is that the glass is very thin, making washing it by hand a tough chore. i mistakenly knocked a spoon against the side and the glass broke, but i liked the product so much that i bought it again

Not Durable

Durable should definitely be removed from the description. The handle broke almost immediately after getting it. However, a little hot glue on the sharp parts and we still have a functioning, handleless coffee maker. It’s easy to use and clean. Gets the job done. The directions on the actual container call for way too much coffee to water ratio for the coffee we use. So that may have some trial and error to a new user

Great Taste. Tough glass. Easy to Use.

This “Pace” model is what I ordered, but what arrived says “Today” and 1.6 Quarts. However, it seems to be the same thing. Some people say the glass is too flimsy, but that seems to have been fixed. This glass is thicker than in a Mr. Coffee carafe, and I’ve never broken one of those. I ordered this because it’s top-rated by Consumer Reports for flavor, price, and ease of use. For health reasons, I’ve been trying to get used to drinking black coffee for three or four years, but I’ve found it tough going. I decided to give this one a try. Excellent! I’ve used it two mornings now, from the same pot, and both 20 oz mugs full have been equally great. I’m actually drinking black coffee and loving it instead of forcing myself. The coffee tastes, perhaps, stronger and fuller than with my Mr. Coffee, but without the acidity that made me cringe. This is terrific. This hold twice the amount of water I used in the Mr. Coffee for my one big mug, so instead of following the directions, I simply used twice as much coffee. At the moment I’m using Folgers Original from Sam’s Club. Nothing special. Regular grind. I normally use 1/4 cup using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, so I doubled that to 1/2 cup and used two. That’s less, I think, than recommended, but it seems strong and good. This morning I finished up the first brew. There was a little very fine sediment at the bottom of the carafe, but my mug was full, so I moved the last ounce in the carafe down the drain, rinsed out the carafe with my hand, and made another for tomorrow morning. I use a double walled plastic Dunkin’ Donut mug I’ve used for over thirty years and don’t put in the microwave oven because the outer wall broke off fifteen years ago and was repaired with a Gorilla Glue. So I heat up the cold coffee from the refrigerator in a two cup Corning glass measuring container. Three minutes of heating raises the 34 degree coffee to about 150 degrees, which is plenty hot enough for me. While I waited, I washed the carafe, put new coffee in the filter, added water, and put it all in the refrigerator. Three minutes. Money well spent!

Misses on some fine points

The Primula Pace Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker with Durable Glass Pitcher and Airtight Lid is not a bad coffee/tea maker it is just not all it could be. On the plus side it fits nicely in my refrigerator and makes a reasonably good cold brew. To be honest I am not the best judge of the flavor of coffee as I tend to make the worst coffee. Had a few things been better designed, this would be a four-star review. In order of occurrence: Small Things: The instructions call for 16 tablespoons of Coffee. That is 0.985784 cups. Would it be terrible to call that 1 cup? The instructions come with a warning that the rubber trim on the bottom of the pitcher, should not be removed. The first time I removed the pitcher from my refrigerator, the friction between shelf and trim rolled the trim off. This happened so effortlessly, I did not know it had happened until I saw the trim sitting, alone on the shelf. It seemed like a good idea at the time: The bottom cap on the filter, unscrews. This should facilitate emptying the filter. However, the grounds were so packed that they would not fall out, and many of the at hand objects I used to push them, just dug into the grounds. This cap is a made to fail item as it is going to get lost or damaged. Another fine mess: The Coffee Filter is a fine mesh. You will want to use coarse ground coffee, even so, the grounds, when wet tend to swell (bloom) such that there can be little flow from the filter into the pitcher and the result is weak coffee. Air tight: It is a good thing that the lid fits tightly to the pitcher. Air is what makes coffee go stale. However, you are going to have to wedge that tight fitting top off and back on every time, you pour your iced coffee. Allowing that this is kinda niggling, I may not have bothered to mention it, except for all the previous small issues. The Primula Pace Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker with Durable Glass Pitcher and Airtight Lid is my fourth cold brew coffee pitcher. It is in fourth place in order of preference.

Easy to use

I love this cold brew maker! I've been looking for a nice inexpensive cold brew maker and I believe that this is it. It's very east to clean with the bottom of the filter that screws off so I don't have to "dig" the used coffee grounds out. I use a long handled dish brush to clean the entire thing. I love that I can make my cold brew in the evenings and enjoy a cold brew the following day. I only have mine brewing for about 14 hours before drinking it and find that the flavour is really nice and mild. I don't like mine too strong but it can definitely be brewed longer. The glass seems very sturdy and the filter doesn't feel too thin. Overall, great quality product and I would recommend this if you're a beginner at making cold brew like me.

Good but...

I Like the size slim iw good becaus eit does not take a lot pf space BUT the silicone bottom make it NOT stable so I had to removed it. Also the mesh hole are not thin enough as we still have grains getting thou. still I kept is because we have no better options
