A very good buy

After comparing the measurements from my broken lock mechanism to the ones supplied by the seller I was satisfied it would work as a replacement.. It fit perfectly and was a snap to install. It appears to be well made and I expect to get years of service from it.

What I needed

I had a 3/4" wide security door with a broken handle. This style door is/was really popular however all the kits at the home store are for 1" or greater doors. This kit fit my 3/4" door and prevented me from having to buy a new $300 door. I think I got it used so maybe $30 here on Amazon definitely a good deal.

Replaces our old Star Die handles and latch

I didn't use all the parts that came in this as I was replacing a broken handle on our door. I used the handle pieces and the mortise, I reused our lock and the frame pieces. I needed to use a round rasp to get the brass locking mechanism to fit in the hole, other than that, everything fit well. The photo with the broken handle is our old lock that this one replaced. I don't think this new handle will last very long. That is why I didn't give it full stars. You can feel the metal flex when turning it to open the latch. At least I now know what to get for next time.

the lever on the inside to lock and unlock the door

The lever to lock and unlock the device from the inside is so tight it is impossible for me to turn it. Therefore, if the door was locked from the outside, I could not escape in the event of a fire.

Make sure you measure correctly this fit perfectly

This was a perfect fit that went on a 30 year old security screen door, I know this should last a long time it does seem to be the same thickness as the 30 year old handles were.
