A great value for a sash lock that can be used in place of a Kolbe... mostly.

This looked very close to our corroded old Kolbe sash lock, but at a much lower price, so I took a chance and bought some. It turned out that the main lock fit right in the same spot as the Kolbe, but the receiver was a little different. The supplied receiver isn't bad, but it does feel a bit on the lightweight side compared to the Kolbe, and I wish the screw holes were set back a little more, like the Kolbe. However, my old Kolbe receivers were still in good shape, so I just used them with the new latch mechanism. For me this was a great value.

Drop in replacement latch - but screws may be smaller than your existing installation.

I bought this product to replace my existing window latch after painting the interior frame and trim a new color and didn't want to paint the latch to match the new theme in the rest of the room. While these are a drop in replacement for my existing latch, there are a couple of things worthy of note ... 1. The color isn't really a Bronze color, it's just a plain dark brown, there is no metallic flake in the paint so it looks rather plain compared to the other components and fittings I have that are actually bronze color. In fairness to the vendor, the color is as pictured - plain brown, not bronze. 2. The mounting screws (also painted) are much smaller (smaller diameter and shorter) than those used on my OEM window latch so I will not be able to use them because of obvious security concerns - even on a very small window. The product page (amazon) doesn't show the screws in the dimension drawing nor specify their size in the descriptive text. So, for my particular case, I'm probably going to spray paint this latch a real bronze color and will also paint the old screw heads for re-use to get exactly what I was looking for. As with many Amazon items, adding more product information/details/drawings/specifications would have helped.

Great for the price

There was no lock on 3 windows when I moved in and the landlord refused to put them in so I did it myself. Great price for trying to take off the rent, and super easy to install yourself when the person who actually is responsible won't do it

Haven’t installed yet- not exactly what I needed. Mine is more square without the curve. Looks good for size. If it doesn’t work it’s my fault. I didn’t see exactly what I needed. The system is the same the shape is a variation. Will update if I install- still looking.

Nice thin lock that I needed for my windows

I liked that it was thin and fit with my windows. Just what I wanted. Work great. They are thin so I wouldn’t abuse them but they lock the windows tight

Repaired my window lock. The movable part was replaced, but left the stationary part which was compatable.
