The holy grail of pants
To me these are the perfect combination of utility, comfort, and aesthetics in a single pair of pants. So much so, that I have bought a total of 5 of these. I also have one pair of Prana Brions, which share the same great fabric but holster a wider cut in the boot area. In comparison to the Brions, these are slimmer and more flattering. The construction, durability, and sizing consistency on all of the Prana clothes I own is top notch and is truly in a class of its own. This model is no exception. For some reason they've discontinued this particular model, which is why I quickly picked up the additional pairs. These are touted as technical hiking pants but, since they're sufficiently elegant for all of the occasions I get invited to, I use them as work/fancy-occasion pants. I guess they'd also be great for hiking, but imagine the fabric might cause them to run a tad too hot in warmer climates. All in all, I'm very happy with these and encourage Prana to introduce similarly form-fitting pants in their place for when my Eagle Rays eventually wear out (which fortunately seems like it'll take a while).

Not the same prAna premium quality as before...
At a little north of $50 (discounted price) they are an OK pant for the price. But I want the another pair of the old prAna heavier-weight really high quality pants that I bought about 15-20 years ago - those are still going strong and looking great but on those pants I hate the velcro pocket closure. Now there seems to be only two prAna men's pants choices these days - one with mesh pockets (to get your keys all tangled in) or these Eagle Ray pants which have the same very lightweight fabric as a handful of other $40-50 nylon travel or hiking pants. Nothing special for a nothing special price. I would happily pay more for the higher quality that prAna used to make - especially if they put simple ordinary pockets in them (...and the elegant little fiber tie that they wrap the pants up in just doesn't magically make them high quality - sorry!).

Seams fail instantly
I ordered these pants, wore them one time, and the seam came apart. Figured it was a manufacturing fluke, so I ordered an identical replacement. Guess what? Same thing happened on the second pair!
