First impressions

The books definitely do the job and are easy to use for a beginner steel drum player, but I won’t lie that I did not expect the covers to look like a photocopy. Not as “professional” looking as I would have hoped.

Makes me happy!

Wish it had more songs, but the ones it does have are great - classics. Silent Night sounds remarkably beautiful when played on the steel drums! It's a beautiful song anyway, but in just learning it on the drums, it sounds enchanting and heart breaking. We Three Kings sounds really cool, too. I'm even thinking about playing this for my church come Christmas time! There is an accompanying CD that not only teaches you how to play (and when to hit the notes - you play along with it, hitting the drums when the music on the CD does), but there's a version on the CD that allows you to play solo while the "band" backs you up. Really happy with this purchase!

The advertising is slightly deceptive. The CD for this product has to be downloaded from the internet and is not an actual disk that comes with the books.

Easy to follow

Enjoy playing the songs. It has separate pages for playing the melody or harmony. You can play along with the cd, tho I usually play the melody alone.

Disappointing

The songs are not the common Christmas songs in general and the book is written with actual notes rather than the numbers that are on the drum itself. Just didn't work out well for our purpose.

Music book

To learn Christmas music with my steel drum can’t play it’s for a bigger steel drum I can’t find a music book for a 6 inch 8 notes very disappointing.
