Using as leader material while fishing for northern pike in super-clear water. (Mine pits.) I'm using a simple overhand knot secured with super glue and it seems to hold very well. Most of the lures I use are large enough that the leader doesn't end up deep enough in the fish's mouth to really see how well it would stand up to being cut by pike teeth. I will continue to use it for trolling and casting spoons, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits because it doesn't kink like the fine wire Invisaleaders I had been using. Plus, I can make new leaders quickly and easily with this stuff. Would I use it with a jig or live bait? I'd try it, but it would make me a bit nervous.

Excellent leader material for braid

I have used this leader material for several years, and it's been fantastic. I have used it with both Fireline and PowerPro, attached via a 5-turn double-uni knot. Tied carefully, I find the connection very strong and reliable. The leader itself is tough and durable, and as fluoro, it is (apparently) difficult for the fish to see. I recently caught a 38" musky while using the 25lb test leader material (with no additional wire leader) though I reduced my drag significantly during the fight and played it carefully. I've also had pike bite off the 20lb test many times, so it's not bulletproof--but with some skill and a little luck, it's very resilient stuff. Highly recommended.

in comparison to Pline Shinsei

bought it together with Shinsei. experimented both with FG knot. it was easier to tie the a FG knot with Shinsei. as i was doing it without the bobbin. i had to bite on it for the knot firmness. CFX snapped quite often before i finished the knot. however i could finish the knot with Shinsei more easily. CFX felt much stiffer compare to Shinsei. Shinsei felt more elastic softer.
