Pretty good kettle

I have had better kettles, but I do like this one because it has only a small bit of plastic on the lid that doesn’t come in contact with your boiling water. I like that it has different settings and I like the light up area but I don’t like that. It always has the power supply on unless you remember to hold the power button down for three seconds to actually turn it off. It just seems like when you hit the office which it should turn off. The cord fits nicely in the base. I saw one review that said it didn’t sit flat. If you look at the base underneath, there’s a little area that you need to slip the cord into so it lays flat against the countertop at that connection. That heats up fairly quickly. I’m not disappointed with it as it does the job. I would give it 3 1/2 stars.

I love the fact that the machine has multiple temperature levels that you can choose it, warms it up to the exact temperature and then stops and allows me to drink my tea without having Four Loko water in to make it the hot water cooler after boiling excellent excellent excellent

Enjoying my kettle!

Needed an electric kettle to take to work so I can have hot tea at various client homes. This works really well. Happy enough with it. Haven't used it too much yet... and wish I had a better way to carry it. I need a bag it can fit in. So far, I'm just toting it in the box it came with. My only concern really is the thickness of the cord from the base to the wall. It is really thick and hard to get the base to lie flat until I put the kettle on. Then it is ok. But, I wish the cord wasn't quite as thick. Coffee pots don't have cords this thick. This is a slight concern for me since I am carrying it around and it doesn't have a single spot on a counter where it lives. The cord stays curled up most of the time.

Only a danger if you're not prepared, but I TRULY enjoy this kettle.

I'm only disappointed that it's so hot while in use, and for a while after. I thought it would be insulated or something. My husband burnt his arm on it. UPDATE:: Everyone knows how to safely operate the kettle, and I'm extremely happy with it. The temp features are awesome, and help me with my time management. Also... The lid gets stuck. I don't know why, really, but sometimes, the latch doesn't release properly.

Excellent kettle

I've had this for a year and use it every day. It is indestructible. I use it a LOT, sometimes heating several times in a row. 12/10 would recommend. Good quality, still going strong. Of course I have one complaint or I wouldn't be writing this. It's minor, but it's the plastic latch that keeps the top closed. Would it be better if it was metal? I don't know. Not an engineer. It is hard to open if the kettle is hot. Like I said, minor, because it doesn't happen with single use, and I am probably harder on this kettle than most people.

I like this electric tea kettle but...

Update: the day after I wrote this review the lid broke completely off. I am disappointed, sadly I had to drop my rating from 3 stars to one as I feel it should have lasted longer than just a couple of months. I was careful and gentle with it; I read the reviews about the lid prior to purchase. This pot heats water fast and has several temps, it's nice that you can see the colors and that they flash so you know your pot is on and at what temp without having to get up and check. It is not insulated but I am an adult with no small children and the handle stays cool. It is a little noisy when heating, but I feel it is a reasonable compromise for the speed. It is a little clumsy to fill as the lid does not open entirely, but I have been careful with it and I was aware as I had read reviews prior to purchasing. I leave mine on the base and fill it with a separate coffee pot that I use for water. I purchased it on January 9, '23, it arrived within a week if I remember correctly. By the end of February, I noticed that the lid latch was sticking, but if I pushed the latch button I could still lift the lid with my fingers to fill it. I have to be careful because sometimes it's hot. Ok...a little inconvenient but it wasn't a $100 pot. I'm always a little leary of "mechanisms" as they cause issues, and this one is plastic. This morning I noticed that the lid appears "sprung". I have no idea how it happened...I am the only one in the house and I am careful with it because it's already "quirky". I can not return it because it is out of the 30-day window. It's too bad because it has some great features for the money. I have posted some photos so you can see what I mean about the hinge and cover "springing". I'm sad, I received a Hamilton Beach electric tea kettle for Christmas however it did not have the keep warm feature which I was really interested in and it was about twice the price. I purchased this Ovente, and returned the Hamilton Beach, now I wish I had not.
