Where do I start, this is possibly the worst purchase of a gadget I have ever made and being a bit of a gadget freak, I have bought many useless gadgets over the years, but this is by far my worst. Before I saw this I used wood litter, every morning using the scoop to take out the solids, and giving it a complete empty and wash on the 3rd day, a 2 min job each morning and around 15 mins every 3rd day, no one enjoys poopie scooping, so like other cat lovers I wasn't keen to do this, although only a 2 min job, I really hated it, so when I saw this I was pretty excited and purchased. I also got a bag of catsan clumping litter, never been a fan of clumping, but hey it says it needs to be clumping, so I spent double what I usually spend on my wood litter, but thought it would be worth the extra, to avoid the poopie scooping, I set it all up with a few issues as it is really badly designed, the drawer doesn't fit well the clips kept popping out, but I persevered and eventally had it all filled with the amount of recommended cat litter, my cat took to it with no problem, which was a good sign, I done the roll over and yep the clumps went into the drawer, I looked in and it had missed a clump, but no big deal, it would catch it next time, next day much about the same, hoping I would get a bit more use than my usual 3rd day full clean, but decided to open it to check, it was pretty disgusting with large clumps all stuck to the grating and to the bottom of the tray, so I still had to do a full clean up, however my usual 15 min job turned into over an hour, the tray is too bit to tip into an average size black bin bag, so I had to use my dust pan to scoop out the litter and tranfer it into the bag, then due to the clumps stuck to the bottom, I hunted for a wall paper scrapper, found one and hacked off the clumps with this again tranfering into the bag, having no one around to hold the bag open and not very easy to do on your own I ended up with lots of litter over the floor, so out comes my brush but my dust pan is thick with clumps of poop and litter stuck to it, so I then wash with some bleach, making a mess of my bathroom sink, then I am now able to sweep the floor, now its time to clean the tray, I decided to blast it with water in the bath, but the tray is too big to fit in the bath, so I am now twisting and turning it under the blasting tap, result I'm soaked, the bath now has litter and goodness knows what else floating in it, I now need to try and carefully lift it over to the toilet to pour down the dirty water, again with the large size half goes into the toilet the other half over the floor and my feet, now there's the grating, how on earth as I going to clean this, I tried to scrape inbetween the slats with an old tooth brush, but this was a long process, then I eventually had to blast this too in the bath. All done now the litter tray is clean but my bathroom is a total mess, so now I have to clean this too, an hour and a half later, I'm exhausted and still soaked with the water, my hairs a mess and I'm already over an hour late for work, but I can't go to work soaked and no doubt stinking of cat pee, so I have to have another shower, eventually arriving 2 hrs late for work (losing 2 hrs pay) and totally stressed and exhausted. So please think very carefully before you buy this, it's not only the cat loo you have to clean, it's your own loo and yourself, I have gone back to my old tray and wood litter, now I actually realise how easy a normal litter is, and don't even mind the 2 min poopie scooping now. I have one small indoor kitty, but at least she appeared to enjoy watching the show. I wish I had took a video to show you what a complete disaster this cat tray is.
