Great value, despite packaging

I was just able to fit a gfi and pigtail in this ebox. It is strong and solid, but I wish it could be bigger. I ordered 3 individual eboxes, but it took so long to arrive, I decided to order another 3 individuals to see if I could get anything done on my spring break. I can only speculate as to why ordering three individually is only a little more than half the cost of buying a three pack- generally multipacks have a better per item price. If I could be given the clarity that there might be more timely shipping or better packaging for the multipacks, I would definitely have paid the higher price. The individual electrical boxes arrived in a ripped package envelope, but all the items were still there, somehow.

Best bang for the buck anywhere

I needed 20 old work boxes and even the blue big box store was so expensive I considered changing my design. I figured I'd give it a shot and see if anything online was less and I was pleasantly surprised to find these. Oddly the multi pack costs more than just buying them individually. All 20 came nicely packed in a single box. I didn't have to drive 20 miles to town, search all over the box store, deal with the self checkout and drive all the way back home. They have a UL listing so they should pass inspection without issue. As others mentioned the box is slightly larger than most so a standard plate fits snugly. Make sure your receptacle or switch is centered and the plate will fit. Otherwise there are oversized plates available.

Ears just a little too long for standard cheap wall plate

I'm "just" a DIYer who is comfortable working on my own simple electrical and bought one of these old-work boxes to add an outlet. Never having done it before, it was actually pretty straightforward after watching a few videos. After getting everything finished, I noticed that the wall plate wouldn't sit flush. At first, I thought it was the receptacle or the way the box was attached to the drywall, but then finally figured out that the ears of the box were 1-2 millimeters too long to fit inside the lip of my standard
