Same as the cheaper brand.

Don't be swallowed up by the NESCO name brand. It is produced in China and is the same as the cheaper brand also on Amazon. I purchased NESCO for the name only to find it is identical to the cheaper brand.

great price for a great crockpot

I wanted a mid size crockpot as I have a small and large already. This one heats beautifully and it's uncomplicated. Easy clean up in dishwasher.

Worked for 18 Months

I had planned my Christmas Eve dinner weeks ahead of time. All of the side dishes had been made, I had a turkey breast brining in the fridge, and all I needed to do the day of was to get up early in the morning, rinse and pat dry my turkey breast, then line the bottom of the slow cooker with baby carrots, celery, and onions, gently place the breast on top after rubbing it inside and out with dry onion soup mix, and then stuffing the cavity with aromatics. I thought I had everything well in hand. That was until, two hours into the cooking time I realized that the turkey was still cold. Out of the blue this decided to stop working. Because my turkey breast was, essentially, sitting on the counter for two hours, I had no choice but to discard it. These days with prices so high, I was quite resentful of this. Fortunately I had a roast beef in the freezer, and a 12-year-old Rival crockpot in the cupboard. A roast beef dinner with turkey sides was not the ideal, but it worked. What I’m trying to say here is that this is unreliable. I don’t think I have ever owned an appliance that has died before two years was up, particularly considering it only got used on a monthly basis at best. My guess is that I used this about a dozen times before it stopped working. Not good value. Be warned.
