Could be thicker

Purchased for my new Craftsman riding mower. The one on my older Craftsman, 24 years old, was about 3 times thicker.

So far, so good

I received this today, and used it with my tractor and sweeper. It is a little tricky to put on, but now that it is on, it seems to work well. Since I have only used it ones, I can't really speak to the sturdiness of it, but so far so good.

Good OEM kit

Had never taken the lawn tractor apart so I wasn't sure what to expect. Most fasteners were clips so not much problem. I did not have a torque wrench to ensure the blade bolt was tightened within 80-100 psi as specified. Other than that, few issues. The directions require you to use the lawn tractor manual to take the lower carriage off the mower - good thing I still had it. The pictures were not in the instructions were not great. Would have appreciated an online link with actual photographs since I had never done it before. Line drawings just did not show enough detail. They show no drawing of the chute add-on in place, so it is hard to know when it is properly installed. The poor illustrations slowed me down such that it took about two hours to install this kit. Installation problems aside, I am very happy with how the lawn tractor now mulches the grass. No bagging, raking, and quicker cleanup around edges with a blower.

Plug didn't fit right so I had to do some modifications , overall working fine now.

Works great but doesn’t fit perfectly

Does the job but the plastic cover doesn’t cover the deck fully. Leaves a gap that leaves a trail of trimmings.

Blades do not fit a cub cacet 42" build date June 2022.

Blades did not fit. Received the 8 star center blades. My model is the 'bow-tie or sometimes referred to as the S', I did not return it because I needed the mulching plug. I will sell the blades myself. When I ordered, it said that it fits the 42" Cub Cadet. Lesson learned.

Mulching Kit Review

The kit was delivered as promised. I only needed the mulching plug as I had just installed new mulching blades so I have an extra pair. The mulching plug installation was not as simple as described. The front pin needed some manipulation to fit into the tab on the deck. Once installed and mowing, the plug didn’t completely shut down the flow of clipping but had acceptable performance.

The pin on the cover doesn't fit properly.

Everything went well until l went to fit the metal pin of the plug cover into the hole of wheel bracket as per the instructions, it didn't fit properly. The pin has a bend in it which didn't allow the cover to go back far enough to fit on the bolt on the deck. It ended up I had to bend the pin out straight in order to get it to fit.

Quick to install

Bought this for my 42 inch ride on mower. I only used the plug as I have good blades installed already. Very easy to install. Tested it out and it stayed in place and worked well.
