Doesn't even come close to sounding like a hiccup!

I purchased two plush hippos and the matching books for my three year old grandsons. I thought the idea of a plush hippo that made a hiccup noise when pressed would have the two of them rolling on the floor with laughter. Well, the sound that comes out of the hippo is awful! Nothing like a hiccup! It sounds more like a fake sneeze... Ah chew! Basically, it's just a low pitched and gravily awful noise! The toy itself is very soft and seems well made, but, the sound is a huge disappointment! As for the matching book... it's cute, it's brightly colored. The illustrations are fun to look at. The book, however, is full of made up rhyming words such as centipede/cementipede, rhinoceros/flosserous, shareapy/wherapy/nightmareapy. I found it disappointing!

The Best!

This is the cutest Hiccupotamus and we love the book so much that we bought everyone of Aaron Zenz books we could find then added the characters as close as possible. I wish every book came with the character like this book does. Also, I noticed the characters throughout this book are also characters in the other books-nice touch

He is simply adorable! So is the book..but the hiccup mechanism in him, does not last long..you should make it sturdier, knowing that small children will be constantly, squeezing the daylights out of it..
