Nice toy for a toddler

Got this for my 16 month old god-son. He's an active and rough baby so I thought this would be sturdy enough for him. He enjoyed playing with it. The hammer was out to use to the point of frustration from his family. Lol. It was a little slimmer than I expected. But I loved that it was wooden. the pieces are big which was very impressive. My only negative was that the trailer part was easy to get off the truck part as there was no bolt of fastener to keep it in place. The baby kept dumping it over lol. A few days in and I thought this would fare better than his other toys but his mom told me he hit the trailer part so much, it came undone on all sides and is now a skateboard or flatbed. Guess "Thor" struck again. Haha!

What can I say? It's a M&D toy. We love it!

UPDATE: 5/16/2018 Our now 3 year-old son plays with this on an almost-daily basis. His 6 year-old sister, for whom this was originally purchased, will also play with it by herself occasionally, but frequently plays with it together with her brother. Our 11 month-old daughter has yet to show any interest in the toy, but judging based off of the love our older children have for this, it's only a matter of time. This is by far one of the best toy investments we have made as we have gotten more than our moneys worth in play. Our daughter received this for her 3rd Birthday and she has played with it frequently since then. It's been almost a year and while it doesn't get played with daily, I would say that she reaches for it at least twice a week. In addition to her playing with it, our 10 month-old son has taken an interest in it and he DOES reach for it daily. He loves pushing the semi around, which is about all he is able to do at this point because he is too young to be able to manipulate any of the tools. Our daughter thinks it's cool to use the screws and build different things off of the semi. It was work every penny, as most Melissa & Doug products are. Fun toy for a little boy.

Fun toy for a little boy. My little 2 1/2 year-old grandson just loves this. He plays it for longer than any other toy he has at this point.

Grandson likes it, but soft wood too easily damaged, and not enough pieces.

My grandson likes to play with this truck. He complains that there are not more holes in the sides, and that there aren't enough pieces to make really interesting things out of it. I have to agree with him. Holes I can drill for him, but it needs more pieces to really be worth the price. The wood is also very soft. He has damaged the tops of some of the items with the little hammer that comes with it. He also cracked the wood by trying to tighten the screws tightly. Pounding with the hammer and tightening with the wrench is what this toy was designed for, so I was surprised how easily it was damaged. Not something I had expected from a good company like Melissa and Doug. I would not buy this again.

Poorly constructed

I was disappointed with the construction of this toy. Within two weeks, two glued sides came off the truck. I expected better from a Melissa and Doug product.

Great, great wooden truck for young boys!!!!

Fabulous truck for young boys. My 3 year old nephew loves it. He wasn't really ready for all the tools and nuts and bolts, but this truck is beyond wonderful. My nephew has another semi truck that is plastic and metal and the trailer hook in underneath and he struggles a lot with hooking it. I was so happy when he unwrapped this truck and the trailer hook was on the top. He is able to hook it in seconds and there are no more tears and throwing things because he can't do it himself. I LOVE this product so much. Thank you for making it in wood as well. It is so sturdy and will stand his tough love.

Bought htis for my 2 year old to help with fine motor skills

Cute little toy. Bought htis for my 2 year old to help with fine motor skills. So far he's not really into it, other than taking the cab of the truck off and driving it around, or banging it on things to crash it. Hopefully once Christmas wears off and he actually sits down to play with it, we'll be able to spark his interest with using the tools and screws to build with. It's bigger than I expected. The wood is a nice feature, other than plastic. The wood does seem to be on the softer side, so we'll see how well it holds up.

Perfect toy for my grandson.

I got this for my 2-1/2 year old grandson. he loves anything that has a hitch that you can attach something and them take it off. He absolutely loves this toy. It has tools that you can use to attach pieces of wood with nuts and bolts to the trailer part of the toy. So glad I bought it. I love toys made by Melissa & Doug!
