This is a nice set, good quality, beautiful detailing and paint job, certainly the complete world of things important to Rapunzel, Her best buddy Pascal, (who can ride on her arm) Her friend Maximus and Her ever trusty Frying pan which doubles as a hair brush, and let's face it, if there was ever a princess who needed a brush, she's the one! I like that even though this is Rapunzel, they made the wise decision to make her hair realistically manageable for playing with (I think they tried a super long haired Rapunzel doll once, and found out, doll hair in general is a terrible idea, Lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ng doll hair is the worst idea!). So far this doll's hair has made it along nicely and I'm optimistic for it's survival. Rapunzel's legs bend at both the hip and the knees so she can "ride" on Maximus, her legs move both straight up and down as well as side to side and her hands fit through the reigns easily. To help hold Rapunzel upright, (and I think to help balance the weight due to Maximus' lifted leg) there is a partial doll stand attached to His saddle (both the saddle and bridle/reins are removable). Rapunzel's arms move both front and back as well as side to side, neither her ankles or wrists are jointed. Maximus' has plastic molded hair on His mane as it's knotted like in the movie, but His tail is free flowing hair like Rapunzel's. She has the classic purple dress from the movie and also true to story she is shoe-less. Her dress is removable so she can change outfits, which if you have Barbie and Barbie like dolls in the house You know this is very important. Maximus' legs are not articulated, which is ok, but I keep thinking back on my own childhood and I remember: even though I never had a barbie horse of my own, I was always annoyed at the idea of a horse that could not walk or put his leg all the way down, (I think they have been using the same universal horse mold all these years!) it seemed silly and impractical to me at the time and I think I still feel the same way about it.... I know as an adult that a moving horse would drive that price point waaaay higher, but the little girl in me, wants a horse with moving legs. I like what's included in the set and for the story, I honestly think they did a great job with this. I can't think of much I would change, I think the price point is a bit high, but it feels like a realistic expectation for what's included and that it's Disney, which is automatic $$! I think for any Tangled fan, this would be well Loved and often played with, it's cute, it's fun and it's the perfect size to blend right in with all the other Barbie dolls. The Quality is right in line with what You can expect from Mattel and Disney Totally gift-able and Four stars!
