Very comfortable and warm

My son liked this jacket so much we got the next size up as he was nearing the limit for his last one. You can feel the quality of the material, true with any Marmot.

Lightweight, true to size

Light down jacket, not for frost. perfect for the israeli winter. The decisive factor in choosing this particular jacket for my son was that the down in it has moisture protection, the humidity here is very high and the down in the jacket can be wet and deteriorate quickly even if there is no rain. hopefully this protection will work as promised by the manufacturer. the only downside to this jacket, in my opinion, is that there is no hood. True to size

Great winter jacket!

After spending a lot of time looking at winter jackets at a variety of online stores for my soon to be 8 year old son, I came across this Blue Marmot. Compared to the prices at many other online retailers, the price was very good and so I decided to take a chance and purchase it. First, let me say, that as is almost always the case, the shipping of this jacket was very fast. The color is beautiful and it keeps my son warm without being bulky. My son, who is pretty picky about what he wears, does not like bulky clothing or jackets, and is sensitive to how things fit and feel on him, really likes it. I ordered a medium, and my son is slender at 50 inches tall and around 54 pounds. The jacket fits well with some room for him to grow into next year. He wore the jacket to go sledding and snowboarding (with temperatures in the mid-20’s) and it kept him warm without requiring many layers under it. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Waste of money non-existent warranty

The zipper broke a few months in. Submitted online claim. Nothing for months. Called, said they would get to it. A mint later still nothing. Kid has now outgrown the jacket. Don’t waste your money on Marmot. Otherwise it seemed a nice jacket for the few times worn. What a waste.

This jacket is not for winter

The jacket is definitely not for winter it can be for the beginning of fall but I needed the big bubble for my son it is a great jacket could not fit him I went to the marmot website to get it but this is a good marmot jacket also

My 6 year old sons personal rating

He says he gives this coat a 4 because it doesn't have a hood and it's hard to hang up. After basketball games its very warm although, it's not very thick. The coat is his favorite color though.

Too light for winter

It’s a nice jacket but way too light for a NY winter. Barely feel the down filling, and wish it was fleece lined at least for a little warmth. It also doesn’t have a hood. It looks good on my son, but he won’t wear it beyond fall. It fits as expected and it’s easy to pack in a school backpack.

Bigger Sizes Needed

Good jacket but my 12 year old son would prefer if it were bigger. We bought the largest size available which was X-Large. He is 5' tall, weighs about 90lbs. He likes to wear a fleece hoodie underneath for extra warmth, which definitely makes it snug. Without the hoodie, he found it a bit tight around the shoulders. Apart from the size issue, it has been a good lightweight, all purpose jacket that he can wear in the city on his way to school. He takes the subway so we wanted something warm for outdoors, yet light and easily packable since the subways can be crowded and hot. He has also worn this jacket with hoodie combination to go skiing.

BUMMER DUDE!!!

No drawstring at the waist? BIG letdown. I love Marmot but they dropped the ball not adding a drawstring to keep cold from easily blowing up into my sons jacket, rendering it almost useless. Otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating. Now I check for that specifically. Had I noticed the absence of a drawstring at the waist I wouldn't have made this purchase. Sorry Marmot.

Excellent product

Love this! Bought XL for my 12 year old son and it fits well, will fit all winter. I love the grid stitch to keep the down from bunching. Well made, high quality materials.
