This is an excellent clamp at a budget price. Compared with an "economy" 6-inch clamp selling for only slightly less, it's far superior in every respect. For example, both the screw and the tensioning bar are larger in diameter, and the pad is swaged on to the end of the screw rather than being held on with a rivet. The casting of the frame provides for reinforcement at the corners. The maximum opening, listed as 5", is actually 5-1/4". You can't go wrong with this one,

It shows copper threaded rod. I got and it didn’t have that. My son needs for welding class so will this be correct? Well is doesn’t matter as it taking thing long to Not get a answer .

Good product, good value

Sturdy and screw runs smoothly. Coating on screw should minimize issues with weld spatter although I haven't used them welding so far.
