Great lights, another reason to love LIFX

The lights are great. Easy to install and very responsive to commands from Alexa, the LIFXapp, Homebridge etc. No issues whatsoever. The brightness and color options are great, typical of LIFX bulbs. If you own other LIFX bulbs you won't have any surprises. The only thing that sucks is that I pre-ordered these from LIFX and then LIFX got bought out...so they cancelled the order and refunded me. I then had to re-purchase them when they were once again offered which was at a higher price. That's pretty crappy service from the new parent company if you ask me. Lights are great though, and work just like you expect them to.

Great lights - better than the Philips Hue lamps that I bought.

I have used many LIFX light through out the house. Since they have not had the downlight retrofit I ordered and have used Philips Hues. I would go so far as to say I really like the way the LIFX light work much much better than the Hues. The LIFX Retrfit downlight is brighter, and maintains its color setting better then the Hues and is also cheaper. Now that LIFX are actually making these retrofit downlights I may just pull the Phillips Hues and replace them all with the LIFX bulbs.

Finally!

I've been waiting for this product for awhile! Very happy they got it released. The light looks great and matches the brightness of the previous retrofits. The only flaw so far is that these lights don't have a beveled edge like others and thus would need to be pushed fully in. The supports are nice and tight which pushes them out from the ceiling and none of them are flush. I'll gladly take this in a v1! Looking to redo my whole house with them still.

Easy set up!

I am in love with this! I have like 15 LIFX bulbs for recessed lights. But when moving to a new apartment... Their recessed lights are built in LED. It wasn't something you can put bulb in... I was upset about this. Then finding out that LIFX released a new downlight model, I decided to buy one just to test it out. Absolutely no tools were used during the installation process. It was easy to remove the old one and install the new one. It took me no more than 1 minute. The adapter that came with it was super helpful! HomeKit set up was a breeze! The entire process (replacing the light and setting up in Home app) only took me 5 minutes. Now I have a reason to buy 19 more of them to replace all of them in my apartment!
