Here's an alternative that's over $100 cheaper...

This is the replacement part listed for a Kenmore refrigerator model number 795.78542.804 . However, part number WR07X10097 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GNGVCQM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) for a GE fridge is a heck of a lot cheaper at only $16.27 . And yes, the parts are identical. I used this GE part on my Kenmore fridge and its running fine. I have no clue why the same part for the Kenmore fridge is over $100 more expensive. Oh, and I also replaced the capacitor with a WR62X79 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09W2CQMMF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) .

Total fraud!

The most common part to fail is the start relay. It is sometimes bundled with a capacitor. As LG no longer makes the correct part, the start relay, it is selling the wrong part, a thermistor, which could overheat an cause the refrigerator to catch fire. As the correct part is out of stock everywhere, we are junking our refrigerator and buying a new one, not an LG.
