Exactly what I wanted

We bought one for our new summer place to make sure it was very quiet. It is silent. It is also visually unobtrusive but good looking if it does catch your attention. Controlling the speed and direction is intuitive and smooth. We bought two more.

Nice but challenging to install on existing foor

Had to return because the distance between the lock and handle didn’t match existing door frame/door. Opted for a Schlage that has a more flexible design.

Nice and solid

Worked great on my front door. I liked this over the similar model we use at work, as the deadbolt plate and thumb latch are one unit. That way the deadbolt backer plate doesn’t turn over time.

Modern Front Door

Was able to install and re-key this myself in under 45 mins. This handleset gave my traditional 6 panel front door a modern updated feel. I added a matte black kick plate to the door as well to finish the look. This is a sturdy well made handle and lock and it appears it will hold up well over time. One downside is trying to unlock the door from outside at night - the matte black does make it a bit difficult to see the keyhole vs. a traditional silver or gold finish would, but you get used to it!

If you like it, buy it

Looks good, no complains, it seems it has extra coating to protect it from the weather for a longer time. A bit pricey but you get what you paid for.

Not compatible with the August smart lock

To be fair, this may be more on August than on Kwikset, but I don't really care. All I know is I installed this handle (which is beautiful and easy to install) but I no longer have access to my smart lock controls, which I depend on. Never even occurred to me that it wouldn't be compatible as August fits all standard lock sets. Seeking an answer I contacted Kwikset and spoke with two people in customer support and either had even heard of August. How can that be?
