Great gift!

This makes a great Christmas or birthday gift. The price for the money is great. I gave it to my 12 year old daughter and she loved it. This is a great gift for a crafty girl. Highly recommend.

Fun new way to tie dye

My kids love doing art projects and they especially love doing tie dye, but it is so messy and not the most practical for a rainy day. This ice dye set was a great alternative and neater way to tie dye. The kit includes everything you need, you just have to make the ice cubes in advance and I recommend having more ice than the tray that is included. You put the ice in the double decker tray along with the headband and then just sprinkle the dye over the ice. After doing one headband we realized that less dye is more and that the pink color is stronger than the others, so to use that sparingly. Try and avoid the dye getting on your hands because it will stain them for a bit. My kids were so excited to see their finished products once the ice melted. We even have some leftover dye that we can use on our own clothes. Overall, this was a fun and relatively easy project to do with kids.

Great "craft" for grade school kids!

My daughter enjoyed making this...she was so impatient waiting for it to dry, but managed to calm her. It turned out nicely. We can still make more!

Fun kit. Don't put the tray into microwave to speed up the process.

This was fun to do together with my 5 year old. Instructions are easy. We felt like the ice cube tray provided does not make enough ice to cover the headbands so we added additional crushed ice. However some of the colors dominated (pinks in our case), so maybe, we had too much ice. We will try next one with just the ice provided. There was a quality issue with our set. One of the headbands had a red marker line across it and there was a lemon seed stuck to another. Are these soaked in lemon juice to set the colors? The set comes with everything needed, even a table cover plastic sheet. We found the gloves provided too big for a child. They fit my hand perfectly though. In the end the headband came out pretty, but not as vibrant in color as I hoped. Still, it was fun to do and we are looking forward to make more. UPDATE 01/23/2023: I am sure this is common sense to most (I had my "DUH" moment yesterday) but don't put the plastic tray in the microwave. I had this "brilliant" idea to put the whole thing into a microwave to speed up the melting ice process and hoping that the heat would set the colors in better. It completely melted the trays! Luckily the headbands still turned out nice and I did not have to face my daughter's tears. But we still have 2 more headbands left to do. I will have to rig something up with disposable food containers. Oh and one of the headbands that had a red marking on it turned out fine, must have been washable. I don't see any evidence of the mark after we tie dyed it.

Can't really mess this up, result is good

This is a one time project that leaves you something to remember with. My 5 yo daughter enjoyed it very much. Includes everything to get going including a plastic mat to help keeping things tiny. The work is really simple tbh, you cannot mess it up really. All you need is ice and in about 2 days you'll have a nice hair band that looks good and won't look the same as any other hairband. It is a bit pricy though at $25 at the time of review.

Fun activity

This was a fun activity for my 7yo. She did it all by herself with some direction. The end result was decent but we noticed the red/pink greatly over powered the other colors and it all just became pink. My advice is to use the pink very sparingly. Overall, fun activity!

Fun kit, provides everything you need

This review is for Creativity for Kids Ice Dye Headbands Craft Kit This is a great kit for 1 or 2 kids. The length it takes from start to finish would not make it a great party or play date activity. You are given 5 headbands, 3 are plain and 2 have different designs on them. Everything you need is supplied besides the ice. You have a protective table cloth, gloves, ice tray, dying tray, dye colors etc. I used a mixture of the heart ice cubes provided and crushed ice. It looked like just one tray worth of icecubes was not going to properly cover the headbands. The directions are clear, have good pictures and make it easy for a tye-dye newby to figure out what to do. The headbands fit adult and child. Overall- if you’re looking for a fun tye-dye kit i recommend this. We have left over dye to use for other household items too. A star knocked off for the price

Great gift for a little girls

This will be a Christmas present, so I have not seen how well this product performs. What I can tell you is everything inside is packaged very nicely along with detailed instructions and everything that you need. This would make a great gift for any young girl.
