Perfect DOG harness

I have spent literally hundreds of dollars trying to find a for real escape-proof harness for a small dog. FINALLY, I thought outside the box and decided to try one of these since it worked for my cat. VOILA!!!! Works like a charm and it IS escape proof!

An Adventure Cat Essential!

This thing is awesome - we got a second cat and had to immediately get a second Kitty Holster. Every other cat harness either has a buckle that snaps and startles the cat, or has two permanent leg-holes that you're supposed to somehow wrangle the cat's front limbs into. This one is different and worth the price just for the ability to attack from above! Just place the harness on kitty's back and wrap it around. Quick, easy, secure. The Velcro is VERY strong - one time our cat got spooked (encountered a horse for the first time) and sprinted off in an absolute panic, but the harness didn't budge and she stayed safely attached to us at the other end of the leash. The sizing is generous - our adult cat (in photos) weighs 9.5 lbs and the XS fits perfectly. New kitten is 4 months old, 3 lbs, and the XS is way too big. If your cat has never worn a harness before, it will probably flop over as if paralyzed when you first put it on - it takes A LOT of practice for kitty to realize he can still walk with a harness on. For our cat, the harness has a calming effect, like a swaddling blanket. The reflective strips are really good quality and add an extra layer of security at night. The pink is neon pink! The yellow is not neon yellow, but is a nice bright yellow anyway. With the right cat personality, and plenty of patience and treats, this is the perfect tool to help your cat develop into an adventure cat!

Nicely made!

I was really pleased with the quality of this harness. My cat had wore a tshirt when he was healing from a wound on his back (he was an indoor/outdoor cat, but no more), so I knew he wouldn’t be too traumatized by wearing this. So I put it on him and headed outside, he only slipped out of it once, but he is outdoor smart, so he didn’t go and hide, but came back to me. The Velcro is SUPER STRONG- so be aware that kitty might not like the removal of it, you have to pull hard. Take your time to get your cat used to this, time inside with it on, plenty of treats (thank goodness for Delectable lickable treats!!) and just patience. My cats a jerk who thinks he’s cool, so the transition was easy, but a cat that hasn’t been outside might get scared, no one wants to lose our kitty for foolish photos on social media. BE SAFE and think of your cats well being, they might not want outdoor adventures. An outgoing kitten started early would be the most successful, but know your cat!

Escape proof

My cat tried and failed to get out of her kitty holster at first. She quickly got used to it and has enjoyed many walks. I have to move her floof out of the way before I secure the velcro, so be aware of that if you have a long haired cat!

Cute and secure

This worked great for my cat. She is fairly tiny, so I had to velcro it a bit tighter around her, but it kept her in, even when trying to back out of it. If she tugged hard enough she could probably get out, but she's old and I didn't give her the opportunity. I went on a 2 week road trip with her out west and wanted to bring her along, while she didn't learn to walk like a dog on it, she did get comfortable with it. When it was going on she knew she was going outside, so she didn't put up a huge fuss. I also bought a cat backpack, so I went hiking with her wearing this, attached inside to the cat backpack. Took several breaks, attached a leash and let her roam about. Was great for stopping to fill up gas and give her some air time out on the grass. She didn't walk well in this (although thats her problem not the harness), as you can see in the pic, she sort of dragged her stomach against the ground for some reason and did more of an army crawl everywhere lol, if your cat can walk in other harnesses, this shouldn't be too much of an issue, but for her it was lol. I let her wear it around the house, when eating food and stuff for 2 weeks before we went out west, but it didn't help her too much I dont think lol. It is bulky, but thats why I wanted it. Theres more fabric holding her in, which definitely made it difficult for her to escape (she never did). It is also super bright and cute, so thats a good plus. I'd recommend this, but keep in mind your cat might walk like a weirdo in it.

This harness is really well-constructed! The velcro seems like it might not be strong enough to hold a cat, but with the sheer amount of it that is used your cat really isn't going to get out of it (unless you don't put it on properly, then they might). I got the bright pink & reflective harness because my cat is completely black and I worry about visibility issues if I take him out. The reflective strip is quite bright, and the pink fabric is an impressive neon that is quite eye-catching. I took off one star, however, because my cat just can't seem to deal with wearing this harness. He goes into corpse mode as soon as it's on him, keeling over and refusing to move, even when I try to tempt him with treats. I suspect if I took him outside with it on to a nice quiet, wooded area he might forget he was wearing it, but I haven't tried that yet. Also, he's put on some weight since I bought this (he's a 12 lb cat who was a skinny 9 lbs when I adopted him) and doesn't fit into it quite as easily anymore, so I'm hoping my other cat grows into it
