Beautiful!

We bought the 4 light dining room pendant like this several years ago, but Lowe's didn't carry it any more in single pendants. I was very confused by the descriptions of this 2641NI and 2643NI (10" and 14" size). 2641NI does indeed have a 50W halogen bulb (the small clip in kind). I don't understand why descriptions of the 14" 2643NI state it has an incandescent bulb. Same company (Kichler), same pendant, just different size, so why different bulb? Honestly, I did want the 14" size but wanted the halogen to match my current pendant. Anyway, the 10" 2641 matches my current pendant and will be perfect over my new 60"x60" island. I am putting them on a dimmer switch.

Looks great; poor bulb/socket design, maybe fixed in newer lamps

Lovely design but, as several others have commented, it can be hard to replace the light bulb without disassembling the entire fixture back to the roof! I installed 3 of these in 2010. Recently I bought another one and found that Kichler have changed the bulb socket. My old ones had a bayonet mount - the kind where you push the bulb in and twist, as another reviewer has described. The new mounts are G9 - a ceramic push pin design - and this is documented on both the Kichler website and the Amazon page for this product. This *should* be a great improvement, as you don't have to twist the bulb against the mount to remove it. - you just pull it straight out. In the old design, if the bulb corroded and stuck to the mount there was no way to get a grip on the mount so you could turn the bulb against it. I don't know when this change occurred (Kichler, shouldn't you have documented this?) and it's hard to tell which kind of bulb socket you have when it's all assembled. Try both methods and hope you have the newer design.

Kichler Lighting 2641NI Galaxie - Caution

Be very careful buying this light. I purchased 4 of these lights in December 2009. Installed and have had no problem until recently. One of the bulbs went out. I removed the light bulb and the entire ceramic socket came out and fell to my island counter top. I read the customer feedback section and found another person had a similar situation. I called Kichler and was told that they only warranted the lights for 1 year and had never had any report of a problem with these lights. Kichler will not provide a replacement light or any relief on the purchase price of a new light. The customer service representative was extremely rude and no help in resolving the lighting problem. I'm now in a very difficult position. I have three of these pendant lights that are now working (but who knows how long) and must buy a new light to replace the unit that malfunctioned. Stay away from these lights if you have the option.

Nice Fixture.

Purchased 2640 and 2641 and 2643 pendants. Kichler bulb recommendations are funky. I used a PAR16, E26 short neck LED bulb in the 2643 as the A19 was too large and unsightly. I used a A19 LED bulb in the 2640 as the A21 was too large and bright.

Great Island Pendant

Love and hate... this is exactly what I wanted but it was too small for a dining room pendant. It is perfect for the island pendants lights. I had already purchased my island lights that were similiar to this or I would have kept this for that application. I returned this one and bought the larger (14") wide pendant.

Kichler 2641NI Galaxie Pendant

When I got the lamp it was smaller than I had expected, the light bulb it comes with is crap. I installed an LED bulb. Much better now. :)
