Much smaller than it looks. Needs special, short bulbs. Not good w/Hue bulbs.
The good: it is made of metal and the plug wire is of decent quality and length. The bad: A standard bulb will stick out and be exposed, so you will need special, shorter bulbs if you want the bulb not to stick out the top and provide a lot of glare. I bought a couple of these to put a few Phillips Hue bulbs behind a couch to wash light against the wall behind the couch. When I screwed the first bulb in, I had to laugh. This is a product that could only be sold on-line, nobody would buy it if they saw it in person. A standard Phillips Hue LED sticks up so high the entire part that illuminates is outside of the housing, so it is now a completely bare bulb. Admittedly, those bulbs are a little higher than normal. But I then tried a regular bulb and it wasn't any better. A standard 60 or 40 watt bulb also sits very proud of the housing, meaning that unless you buy special, very short spotlight bulbs you can't really use this anywhere where the fixture will be visible unless you want to look directly at a bare, exposed bulb. I imagine almost everyone buying this assumes it is big enough to fit a standard sized bulb or even a standard, small spot bulb inside the housing, but instead it is shrunken down, a tiny version of what you think you are buying. They are not easy to adjust either, they have far less adjustment than you expect them to have given the way they are designed. All in all, I am disappointed in these. I can make them work by hiding them behind the couch, but I don't think they are a good value. They aren't worth returning but I am sure there are better options out there.

Works OK for my purpose...
I'm using two of these lights with 40 watt LED PAR 16 flood lamps to reflect light of off the walls when watching a wall mounted plasma TV. I have the lights sitting on the floor, pointed at the back of stereo speakers and then the light reflects on the walls on both sides of the screen. The brightness is just right and no light reflects off of the screen or the shiny bezel of the TV. What you need to know is that the ball that holds the bulb just sits loose in the base, the power cord provides some tension to keep the ball from moving. Now in my case this didn't matter, I could just move the whole device to aim the light, but if you thought you could precisely aim the bulb in the stand you can't without moving the base to what ever angle you require. Also the black plastic surround was broken on arrival in one of the lamps, so I just removed the one in the other lamp and the PAR 16 bulb fits fine. So if you want to have the base parallel to something and think you can twist the bulb holder and it will stay put, forget about it. If the light will be out of sight or it doesn't matter how you position it, then it's fine. Overall construction seemed OK, power cord and switch seem like good quality, not flimsy.

Kenroy Home Orb not really a spot light
This is a little ball (maybe 4" or so in diameter) with one side open and a ceramic socket for a medium based bulb in the opening. There is a "baffle" (stair step looking thing) around the opening like you would see on most can lights, the purpose of which I believe is to reduce glare. The ball is separate from the base, connected only with the power cord that runs from the ball through the base. The base is a bent sheet of light gauge metal (steel I assume) with a hole cut in it. The hole has a rubber insert to separate the metal of the base from the metal of the ball. Aiming the light is achieved by turning the ball however you want, freely, in the hole. The only limitation is the cord between ball and base. I'm pretty sure any combination is achievable so it should work for any spot you need to shine on any other spot. It's all feels very solid and well constructed. Looks very nice and wouldn't seem out of place in most settings. If you look at the brushed stainless one there the picture shows it with a bulb. A medium based incandescent light bulb sticks out so that end of the bulb is about flush with the edge of the opening in the ball. If using a medium based ccfl the tip of that sticks out beyond the ball. This results in a very wide "spot light" that is pretty much 180 degrees. For my purposes it is way too wide of a light pattern and not what I was expecting at all. Other than the fact that it's not a "spot" in my terms, it's a pretty cool little light. I'm planning on keeping it and trying to work it in somewhere because it's pretty slick.

Well made
This is not a complicated thing to review. Its simple and its made well and it comes out of the box and you simply plug it in. You can easily screw in a 60 watt bulb which is not included. I would buy more if i needed them.

Nice, but overpriced
This is a nice spotlight. It's fairly well made and attractive. I need a spotlight for a mannequin and I didn't want something garish. I want the attention on the mannequin, not the spotlight itself. It, for me is an attractive color and fits well with my decor. However, that being said, I really debated on the 4 stars. It really only deserves 3, possibly only 2 stars. It wasn't well packed, the items were coming out of the box it was packed in. Thank goodness it's box was packed into another box because I had other items delivered at the same time. Any bulb you put in (well the majority anyway) sticks out and that takes away a lot of the attractiveness. The cord will not adjust so there is a portion of cord underneath that I wish I could pull and tighten, but I can't. I put a 25 watt bulb in it and it REALLY got hot so I switched it out for a 40 watt swirly fluorescent bulb, that works better. All in all, if it were $12 to maybe even $21 I would order it again, but $34?...that's way to much for this item. And, all of that being said (again :), I do like the looks of it.

????????
I couldn’t adjust the light direction on mine because the cord that goes into the back is so stiff that I wasn’t able to direct the lighting because the cord was in the way. It’s a very bright and shiny copper. It’s pretty...A lot prettier than the standard black ones. If you’ll need to tilt yours in a specific direction then you may want to pass on this one. It’s always possible that I got a defective unit ????????‍♀️ but I exchanged it for something else.

Great light...
Great little spot light. I paired it with a Philips Hue Par16 bulb, works perfectly, stays cool to the touch. Very happy with it!
