Almost awesome

The tea set itself is adorable! But the paints are junk.. the pic is multiple coats and as you can see it’s very thin. If your kid likes crafts I would recommend the set just buy different paints.

Check contents in the box

I bought this for my granddaughter several months ago, but she received it for Christmas. When she opened the box, the only thing in it was the cast of the mermaid — no paint, no sequins, no brush. Obviously it had already been opened before it was delivered to me. Needless to say, it had been so long since my purchase, it was unreturnable, so I ordered a second one to replace it. This time the replacement was received intact with everything in it. All i can do is caution anyone who buys this to check the contents right away to make sure everything is there so it can be returned. I learned the hard way.

Great customer service.

Now, I'll say I bought one and it came broken, but these are like, plaster - so I can't fault them too much on that regard, but obviously that's a heck of a damper when you're givin' it to a kid in like, 4-5 days and are worried if it'll show up in time. Contacted customer service, they got it out real quick and understood that the first was a broken mess! (It REALLY was, so bad that it looked like winter snow exploded out of the package.) New one was just fine, though if you get for your kid the slot hole is a bit small - I had to really help my nieces get any bills in and the hole/cavity inside is a bit small too. So if you're wanting a real functioning bank ontop of something to do craft wise, not so much. But my nieces loved painting it and loved that it was a mermaid tail - so I scored some aunt points on that regard. Definitely something fun to do during covid, it comes with shimmery style paints that match the theme well. I don't know if I believe that it covers the whole thing with how kids use paint, but they rarely cover anything they want to paint to begin with so I don't know if I could knock off stars. Overall, tl;dr: Was worth the money but it has a chance to come broke, if you don't mind contacting customer service and are looking for a fun craft to do and teach about saving money with kids, this is something good to do that can reflect their interests.

Bought 10 for my daughter’s mermaid party. 10 1st graders painted them… 1 tipped on table and cracked immediately. 1 bank’s mermaid tail only had half the sequence. Girls had fun but painting the word mermazing was hard for them ???? other than that nice product.
