This is for 220-240v wiring, not 120v

Purchased to replace an identical-looking and similarly-numbered older unit in my outdoor lighting setup. Installed without incident, but it didn't work. The clock face doesn't rotate as the day marches on. I see that the product description on this page says " A 208277 Vac, Mechanical Panel Mount Timer." That is supposed to say "a 208-277V AC Mechanical panel mount timer". The sticker on the back says that the clock expects 208 to 277 volts, so if you are planning to use this for a 120v system, it won't work. The load circuit (lights or pool or whatever) can be anywhere from 24 to 277 volts.

Easy replacement

I first reached out to Intermatic to confirm I was ordering the correct timer to replace the one that quit working after 10+ years. There were no instructions but it was pretty easy since I was replacing an existing one. A couple things were different -- the way the 2 wires attached/wrapped and the back cover on the new timer had to be removed to fit in my pool timer box. Caution if you have same set up like I did, don't discard the back piece or at least make sure you put the screw that is hidden behind the sticker on the back of the unit once you remove the back piece because without it in place, the unit will not be fully together and will come apart in 3 pieces (found that out the hard way). So at this point, it's been installed and working great for over a week, no more of me remembering to turn the pool pump on and off daily. This was the first time I have ever done this so all in all, it took about 10 minutes.

Easy upgrade

Needed to upgrade my timer to allow manual operation, I called Intermatic and they told me to install this timer. It works perfectly, it is easy to install and it is inexpensive. Nothing not to like.

Doesn’t fit box

First order product was defective, still waiting on refund. Second one does not fit properly into unit so I will have to retrofit it
