Thinner than anticipated, but it works

I bought this to use as backing paper for a framed poem I received on Chinese parchment. The parchment has gold lined patterns and I wanted a gold backing for the frame to bring out the patterns. For that purpose, it does very well. The patterns really stand out with the bright gold border matting. Only, the material is much thinner than I anticipated and as a result is also wrinkly. Still, I went to 4 stores in town, during Christmas, trying to find plain gold paper and couldn't find anything! So at least this was out there!

Pretty, but hard to cut cleanly

Very Pretty, but EXTREMELY difficult to cut - you'd almost be better off with a fresh razor knife than with anything besides a freshly professionally sharpened pair of shears. It does not allow colors, print or patters to show through

Plenty on the roll

I bought blue mylar wrapped balloon weights at the dollar store. Then I purchased this roll of mylar. It was easy to cut into squares and wrap around the silver balloon weights with a twist tie. The combination was stunning. I will keep the balloon weights and use them again knowing that I can easily change the color with a roll of mylar. I made 17 centerpieces and there is plenty of material left on the roll.

Unusual use
