Not like they used to be.

It was easy to install but the screws that secure it to the bell box need to go through the gasket first and then threaded partially into the bell box. The gasket does not fit the GFI outlet completely but with the cover closed it should keep the rain and snow out. The hasp that allows the cover to be locked is misaligned which would require a very tiny lock or a bit of drilling. All in all the cover is not expensive but with my years of installing many multiple units I have to admit that quality of workmanship has suffered.

Easiest of replacements

So we've all had to replace covers in our life time but are darn easy. Easy molded foam, great illustration for installation. Darn easy. Maybe 10mins to replace one. Cleanup is probably just as long but great purchase. I just might buy another outdoor one for fun.

Bit scuffed outta package.

Has a nice feel and a logical design. I'm very pleased with the construction, spring, foam backing. But it was severely scuffed inside the packaging, the scuffs are deep, cutting through the outer paint to the aluminum underneath. It'll do for my usage but I probably won't get another as these are seen often.

Good for other things too

We have motion sensor lights at my work and I don’t like the lights to be on all day long, instead having the window shades open for natural light. This works perfectly to fit over the sensor/switch. Makes my life just a little bit easier.

Has open holes after installation.

The product is robust feeling and overall I am happy with the purchase. I purchased it to use with an ELEGRP NEMA L5-20R socket and the socket is more difficult to install than expected - lots of filing and trimming of pieces supplied and it still doesn't fit as well as I would like. The main issue with the cover is that weather proofing comes from the foam sheet supplied with the cover. There are several exposed holes after fastening the cover which I suppose are made weatherproof by the foam but it is not as well designed as I had hoped. I expected a cover with no open holes after installation. I would not buy this item again.

Installed like a dream

Replaced a GFCI outlet box cover. All I had to do is remove the plastic insert and use the existing screws. Two minutes tops....worth every penny.

Wrong Information - "Purchase Together Recommendation"

I purchased a 110\240 Switch (Red\Green") buttons; at the bottom it suggested that I buy a deep metal box and this Universal Weatherproof Cover Plate. Unless I'm totally confused about this cover it will not fit. I've taken it apart but there is no way for the switches to be covered by this Cover Case. Good news is I have a regular 110 volt exterior plug that needs a cover.

Good for exterior outlets

I was easily able to install this cover on our exterior outlet that is adjacent to an alley. Strangers had been using the outlet to charge their phones, so I wanted to stop that activity. I have used a small luggage lock to keep it from being easily opened. I recommend this for anyone who has a similarly accessible exterior outlet.

Holes too small for a padlock.

I bought these so I could lock the outlet. The holes are too small for a lock and if drilled out the surrounding metal is too thin afterwards.
