I'm thrilled witIh how much cleaner and newer my carpeting looks thanks to these Hoover carpet cleaning solutions! I recently purchased the Hoover Powerdash Pet carpet shampooer. It is the smallest, most basic Hoover carpet cleaner and was less than $80! This solution bumdle is the perfect thing to go with it. The wall-to-wall carpet on our stairs and our second floor is nearly 12 years old. We have raised two kids in this home, and have always had at least one if not two dogs. Plus, our house was always the house all the neighborhood kids and our kids' friends from school would come to play and hang out. Our carpeting had never been shampooed except for a bit of spot cleaning here and there, so you can imagine the stains, dirt, and grime. I am thrilled with how quickly, easily and thoroughly the Hoover Oxy cleaning solutions and the Hoover carpet shampooer cleaned my carpets and got all the stains out. The larger bottle says it is for "permanent" stains and I found it worked for all of the stains in my carpeting. Although this bundle is specifically for the Hoover "Smartwash Pet" shampooer, it worked well in my Hoover "Powerdash Pet" shampooer. The Powerdash is very basic and doesn't have the attached "Spot Chaser" pretreating wand that the Smartwash has, but now worries, I simply placed a spray trigger from another product onto the bottle of solution that Smartwash owners would pour into their pretreating wand. I sprayed the solution directly onto the stains right out of the bottle. The trigger from my other bottle didn't fit exactly on the Hoover bottle, so I ran some tape around it to hold it in place. It looks kind of sad but it works well enough. First I vacuumed up loose debris and dust, then I spot treated all stains with the Spotchaser pretreating solution and let it sit for about 20 minutes, then I shampooed with the Oxy deep cleaning solution. Some of the stains were pet stains from house training our most recent foster dog, but others were so old I don't remember what they were. I think some of them were from chocolate syrup, pizza and tempera paint, nad probably some red kid drink like cherry Koolaid. Plus, there was just years of stains from tracked-in dirt and mud that had been vacuumed up but left brown and gray stains. I sprayed the pretreater on all of the stains, and all of the stains came out and I am left asking ymself why I did not get a carpet shampooer years ago. It is so much easier, less expensive and more convenient than scheduling and paying a service. Plus, if your kids accidentally spill grapejuice on the carpet the very next day, you can just shampoo that area immediately instead of scheduling and paying the service to come back. I have included before, during and after photos of one small area to show how dirty my carpets were and how clean they look now after one shampooing. I have also included a photo of the nasty water the shampooer sucked up; it is nearly black from all the dirt and grime this cleaning solution got out of one small area of the carpet. Overall I highly recommend the Hoover Oxy formula for anyone with dirty carpets, whether the messes are from pets or kids or just everyday living. These solutions work very well to remove stains, and they smell fresh and clean but the scent is not overpowering. There is a generous amount of solution so it will last a long while, especially the larger bottle of Oxy solution is highly concentrated and is mixed with water in the shampooer, so only a little is needed. I am very pleased with how much newer and cleaner my carpeting looks now, considering it is nearly 12 years old and had never been shampooed. Recommended.
