Update, Need Manufacturer support

Update, after writing this review I waited a bit and decided to return thru the Kohls Amazon return process. It was very easy and a new item was delivered as fast as the first time. New Boring head and components we're in perfect condition. Again this is a great product for what you pay for. If your going to use a lot purchase a industrial grade. Hello, Help Bought this for my mini mill based on the good reviews. The product shipped very fast and in a well protected package. Very happy with the overall fit and finish. There is one issue and if resolved I will give this product 5 stars One of the boring bars has a cracked carbide tip. Please see Red arrow in photo. Could the manufacturer please reply with possibly sending me a replacement. I do not want to return the whole package thru Amazon. Bought it because I need to use. Thank you

Gets the job done, well made.

I made a mistake when I received this and did not check all the holes for size. The second bottom hole (the outer one) was under size by .0025 and the 1/2" shank tooling would not fit. However, Amazon customer service was fantastic even though I was well past the return date and is sending me a new one. The tool itself seems well made and will do the job for my level of work as a hobbyist. I currently making clip-ons in aluminum for my motorcycle and it has no problem boring the 2" hole for the forks. Learning how to use it but seems more than satisfactory for the work I'm doing.

Okay at best

Not sure what I expected at this price point. I mean, it's better than the no-boring-head-at-all, that I had before. It does the job, but it's very frustrating to use. There's a lot of slop in the gibs, so it's hard to be precise. The boring bar shanks are very soft, so the grub screw throws up a burr and makes the shank stick in the tool. I turned a recess on one so I could actually use it. I will be buying a few nicer insert bars, with a positive or at least neutral rake.

Nice small shop tool for the price

If somewhat an experienced machinist...excessive endplay can be dealt with. Unit lacks an adjusting gib insert in dovetail ways to allow for wear and to replace over time if and when wear gets excessive. Overall...unit will perform with decent results... as long as you realize you are not buying this item for extended industrial use.....keeping in mind the low and very reasonable price.....for a small workshop....using this tool on occasion.... I would recommend it's purchase.

Received in poor condition!

Received product and the shipping box was not damaged in any way, however the plastic case inside the shipping box was partially open with contents all out of place and the plastic nesting inside the case was broken. May be returning this item.

For the price it is not bad - will continue to use it. adjustment screw is a little sloppy but I can live with it.

Not for super precise work

Bits are cheap and the adjustable head has a few millimeters play , so it’s harder to do precise work
