I took 1 star off, simply for sizing. After reading reviews of this and similar products while keeping in mind the product description, I decided to make this purchase for our unborn baby. We do not know the gender, so the colors are great. This set includes everything we will need in the first few days. At least until we can purchase more gender specific items. The set as a whole is a great deal, but keep in mind it is 0-6 month sizing so it is larger than we will need, but I think it will work. I'll review each piece individually so you can get a better idea. I would have given 5 stars if the clothing ran a little smaller, but again, reading the description, I was prepared for this. Swaddle blanket- PERFECT! It feels softer than the Pima cotton gown I have, it is super soft, perfect size and best of all, it is a very nice, thin cotton so it won't be too hot for this August baby, though not as thin as muslin blankets. Towel & washcloths: They are typical baby towel and washcloths... Not my personal favorite as they are very thin, but they are nice and soft. It is actually what I was expecting. If you are wanting a thick terrycloth or bamboo, this is not it if you are expecting the cheap towel set from Wal-Mart or Target, this is it. Hats- I am not going to lie, these are rather huge for a newborn. They may even be big for a 6 month old. On a positive note, I am sure I can attach some velcro or something to temporarily take it in so it will fit baby. They are actually very soft though (I would give them 2 stars for sizing but 5 stars for fabric) Booties and mittens- Very soft, great quality fabric but again they are rather large. I am not sure we will ever use the booties because they are so big. They are really the least of my concerns though, as baby will be swaddled and most babies can't keep socks on anyway. The mittens, while rather large will work because of the elastic. They can go further up onto baby's arm rather than resting at the wrist. I love how soft they are. Bibs- PERFECT! they have a very soft terrycloth backing and the front is the same extra soft cotton as everything else. Burp cloths- They will get the job done, but are not the best quality. I think they will work for a baby that does not spit up much. They are made out of the same material as the towel, so soft and thin. Onsies- Large but again, very nice material and very cute, if this is a large baby, they will probably work, but if it is a small baby, they will not work. On a positive note, baby will eventually grow into them. We plan on cloth diapering, so the fact that these are larger may turn our to work better for us, they are definitely not a newborn size. Gown- Could not be more perfect!!! The sizing looks spot on for a newborn-3 month old. It, again, seems to actually be softer than my Pima Cotton gown, I love it! Sleeper- HUGE! I mean, as the description reads, this is supposed to be 0-6 months, so I am not shocked by the fact that the sleeper probably will not fit until baby is 3 months old...unless this is a really big baby. (My last 2 were little peanuts at 6-7 lbs) Shirt and pants set- While both are big, I am sure the shirt will be very functional from the beginning, especially since we are cloth diapering. The pants probably won't fit for a while, but we are having an August baby and live in the deep south, so I doubt we will even need the pants until late September or October, by which point they may fit. The material is fantastic!
