First One is Fantastic Second One ... Not So Much

So I bought one of these a few years ago for a half bath remodel and we fell in love with it. The quality of construction is evident every single time you turn it on. It looks incredible and we have yet to have a single problem with it. So in preperation for remodelling my son's bathroom, we ordered an identical faucet. Well, Faucets and More dropped the ball on this one big time. The box came in with normal sized scotch tape holding it together - a sure sign of a previous return. No biggie, though, if it works the way it's supposed to. The faucet itself looked unused, however it seems there are things not inside the box that should be - most important of which are the instructions for installation. Well, there were instructions, but they were for a Hansgrohe shower diverter that has nothing at all to do with a bathroom faucet. Returning now and hoping for a brand new one next time. After all, it is what I paid for.

High quality, elegant looks

Much higher quality than what you'll find at the big box stores. The feeling of the handle operating is silky smooth, literally the smoothest faucet handle I've ever felt. Looks very nice too and the polished nickel finish is much more refined and sophisticated than chrome, but the down side to that is you have to find everything else in polished nickel to match (it's doable but tough and limits your selection). Installation was a snap, though this came with 3/8" fittings for the supply lines and mine had 1/2". I think most all new faucets come with 3/8" so that should be anything unique about this one but do check your valves ahead of time. I had no luck with a 3/8" to 1/2" conversion fitting so I had to sweat the old valves off and sweat new ones on that had 3/8" fittings. Another nice touch is that the retaining nut for the faucet has two set screws so once you have tightened the nut down, you tighten the set screws and the faucet will NOT rotate side to side (it feels cheap when a faucet does that).

A work of art

A work of art! This is a beautiful and substantial faucet, packaged like the piece of jewelry it is. The lever has a very smooth movement and is elegant. Designed to work with sinks with no overflow hole, the faucet does not have a pop-up drain mechanism. I'm using this with a hammered copper sink in my powder room. One other caveat - as a European design, the hot/cold connectors are shorter than American designed faucets; your plumber may need to add extensions to your line connections to make everything work. Still worth the extra effort - this faucet is a beautifully made jewel that also has great function. Great value for the money.

Beautiful, solid brass, love it!

The only reason I listed 4 stars for easy to install, had to buy extensions to reach valves. It must be German shut off valves must be mounted higher or cabinets are shorter. Quality product ????
