Without going into too much detail on this, I do feel this is really neat for our kids. It changes things up in terms of how they are looking at letters and words. We like the magnetic wand, but we do wish that it came with two instead of just one.

Engaging & fun for a 4yo

I try to find and explore options when it comes to teaching my daughter about reading, etc and this came across for us to try. She's had a clear grasp of the alphabet for some time now and knows some words when we do our daily stories but I wanted to try her on some things where she was more involved than just looking at the books. This helps with that. So far she's been able to take on multiple of the ways they detail to use the bits, and do it without not only getting frustrated but also it's been engaging enough that after a few times in our rotation she's asked on her own to come back to it and play more. She isn't too hard on her things and these look nearly new but I would expect from the quality they would stand up to most normal use just fine as well. Overall it's engaging, is built on solid work when it comes to helping to expand reading skills, and is sized right for kids. One note we found the magnet on the wand to be a bit too powerful and was the only point of any frustration when it came to playing with the set was when we were to use the wand. We ended up working around it's use most of the time because of that.

My pre K students really like the magnetic feature of this game. They also like the many different activities that come along with it .

Good way to practice letters

This is a fun set to use for additional practice with letters and/or spelling. It comes with a nice informational booklet that explains the different skills that each color coded card can work to enhance. You get 13 activity cards; each has a different activity on each side. You also get a card for game instructions. I like the idea of the games, but they say "the first kid to" in a lot of the instructions. This would require two magnets and sometimes two sets of cards, which are not included. It is easy to find additional magnet wands if you need more though, and you can adapt these games easily for individual play or for ways that work with multiple players. The letter chips are also color coded. Single letter consonants are blue, vowels are red and letter blends are green. There are little dots on some of the chips to help determine which direction that letter should go. The magnet wand is durably made and has a strong magnet. This is a good thing, but it does mean that the magnet will want to grab all of the letters near it, so it will take the kids (especially younger children) some time to figure out how to grab only what they want. There will likely be quite a bit of distraction with trying to get as many letters on the wand as possible. I recommend allowing breaks for this activity after periods of work to help them stay focused. It is great to have a large variety of activities to reinforce some of these concepts and I think this is a good addition to the collection. It is particularly nice that it does not take up much room and can easily pack into the box for storage. I also like that a small ziplock bag was included for the wand and for the letter chips so everything stays together well.

Great for Learning!

We love any games that will help the kids learn! This is a great set of cards with letters and the chips are perfect for any kind of learning activities. We don't use the wand because it picks up many chips at once unless you have them spread out far. I like that it has a couple game cards to play on also. Hope you find my pictures helpful!
