Entertainment for little ones.

Kids learn about cause and effect while having fun. I had ordered one like this years ago from FAO Schwarz… couldn’t find another until now. Giving this to a friend for her baby shower.

Parents Love This

Years ago, I got a toy almost exactly like this for some friends when their baby turned one. They told me later it was the best toy they had received. It's quiet, it's washable, and it captivates their toddler. They said they moved it from room to room with them, for example, tying it to a doorknob so their son could be engaged while they were busy fixing dinner or hanging out in the kitchen. I recall it was the 'toy of the year' by a parenting magazine that rates toys, and I can see why. I got this one recently for a neighbor's one-year-old. I'm not sure it's the original, but it sure is close, and they love it. They tell me it took a while for their son to 'get it,' but once he did, he played well, feeding the pelican and watching what happens. They say it's supporting the 'cause and effect' stage of his learning.

Cute & well made

This is a really cute toy that my granddaughter loves, however there are only 4 little sea creatures inside a rather large “belly” and my granddaughter got bored with so few items to stuff into pelicans mouth and then remove- I would have paid a little more for more sea creatures. Of course you can do what I did and search around for other sea creatures or blocks or whatever and add to the mix. The few too many toys is the reason for 4 stars, otherwise it is well made and very cute.

Hard to use

This would be a great toy if it had a puppet feature. Not being able to open and close the mouth from the inside makes it hard to use with a toddler. I bought with the intention of using with toddlers in speech therapy but it is hard to manipulate.

Love the concept but structure needs improvement

This toy is neat and unique. My youngest (15 months old) is a huge fan of hiding things or taking them and seeing where they fit. It must be a developmental milestone because I'm always finding sippy cups of milk and food in very odd places. She is delighted with that game but I just can't share in the enthusiasm when I lose the game and find what she hid a few days later. Anyway, I was looking for a toy with a similar cause and effect concept to keep her entertained and we got this. She really likes it and I haven't found (or smelled) any disgusting food surprises lately so it must be working. The description says that it's 5 inches high but that's actually the height of the sea creatures. The pelikan itself is approximately 20 inches. What I don't like: There are just four toys to feed the pelikan. I feel that the price ($24.99 when we purchased) was rather high for what you actually receive. The quality and stitching is excellent, like all M&D toys we buy, but we like a little variety! :) One other thing that's rather annoying is that there is no structure inside of it so it slumps over. Having a weighted belly with some reinforcement in between the material on the sides would probably make this toy easier for little hands to play with. Overall though, it's a pretty cool toy and the kids like it.

Good product, but short lived.

Great product for a toddler, but short lived. Very well constructed and eye pleasing to the child, but didn't seem to inspire play without a sibbling or parent at all times.

Cute toy. Not quite as easy to open the mouth and put the "food" in as I imagined but we don't have it tied to anything..

Quality materials, big hit with a 1 year old!

Bought this for a friend's 1-year old birthday party. The quality is very high - materials feel nice and durable. The little one loves the toy, especially the smaller ones that make a squeaking sound. The beak is a bit too difficult for a younger child to operate, but doesn't take away from the fun.

Super cute! I would buy again as a gift as my own children have out grown it. It's a good size that is easy for little hands to handle.

1 year old not impressed

Doesn't seem to interest my 1 year old. But I think it is fun. Easy to attach to playpen. Bright colours and well made
