Terrific shirts, perfect for lifting

I bought these to wear at the gym doing heavy lifting, and they are perfect for that. Other than a pretty minor issue with their being a little longer than I'd prefer, the fit is excellent. For working out in particular, I prefer a shirt that fits tight enough to be a bit of a struggle to get in and out of so there's never any bunching up or blousing of fabric getting in my way (not to mention I have the body to carry off a skin tight shirt, which at 50 years old I don't mind flaunting a little). So I got these in small, and for me at 5'8", 165 pounds, relatively thick chest and arms v. narrow waist the fit's just as a like it. In addition to the fit, the extra thickness of these shirts is really nice. It helps reduce any chaffing in my shoulders/upper back from doing low bar squats, cushions the bar a little better on front squats, and I feel like they help me get a better grip and lower risk of slipping in my should blades when leg driving during bench press. So great fit, great functionality, look good, plus -- as is the norm with Gildan -- really nice price for such high quality. The Hammers are more expensive than standard Gildan T-shirts, but they're more than worth it for the extra thickness of the fabric.

SIZES ARE LEGIT!

I bought M because of reviews advising to go a size up. I am really an S. I wear size 30 pants (s). The result is a shirt that looks like a loose relaxed fit S and a little too long at waist level. It was supposed to be a slim fit. My bad. Can't tell wether these will shrink but I hope they do. If you are really a slim dude like me with 28-30 waist, do grab S. If you are M, it will be a neat slim fit. These look and feel well.

Go 1 size larger

Go at least 1 size larger - I bought Large ( my usual size and a size I have purchased in this brand but the ultra cotton heather grey ). After I washed the new Hammer tee, it shrunk to a nice medium size. Maybe the 1 percent poly of the grey shirt keeps it from shrinking but I didn’t think it would make this big of a difference. I recommend you buy 1 size larger than you usually buy. Lucky for me - I know someone who wears medium.

Quality t shirts with durable quality cotton and fit!

Quality t shirts! Unlike Hanes & fruit of the loom that are showing signs of them cutting corners by making their t-shirts slightly shorter and tge material seems very thin now. However, Gildan t-shirts may be a little more expensive but you can feel the difference in quality just by touching them. These t-shirts are durable quality cotton and of a good length! My husband's cheap t-shirts as mentioned above wouldn't even stay tucked in any longer as the recent ones I bought seemed to be made shorter but the price also increased! Go Gildan! You have my husband and I as customers for life!!
