Did not prevent damage after a power outage.

Both my washer and dryer, both on individual circuits, were plugged into individual surge strips. They’re only two years old. The power went out last Thursday. On Sunday, I went to do laundry and both machines were inoperative. I checked the breakers and tested the plug voltage. All up to code. The surge protector did not prevent a surge. I will now be paying over $600 to replace the electronic interface on both the washer and dryer as a power surge damaged the microchip boards. I had a whole house surge protector added to my electrical panel today and I threw out these useless surge protectors I bought.

GE 6 Outlet Surge Protector: Cheap way to create some more outlets.

Our house doesn't have enough outlets to keep up with all the tech. These are an affordable way to add more outlets. The 2' cord is too short for many purposes, but just fine for my bedside where I have a lamp, cordless phone, humidifier, and cell phone charger all going. Big plus is the right angle plug so it fits behind solid pieces of furniture like a chest, but brings it out so a spot where I can easily plug devices into it. Does have an on / off switch though I don't know what purpose is serves. Would not plug any high value tech into it, surge protection specs are nothing special. Delivered quickly

Got what I paid for

While these aren't very high quality they work well for short power strips. The switch to turn them off is a bit indented into the casing (I bought 4 of these and they were all the same). If you only need a power strip within the two feet of your socket they're great for that but I realized I could have used an extra 1-2 feet.

Gets the job done

These are cheap and come in white, so I gave them a try. I don't really care about the surge protection feature so my requirements are pretty low. That said, these get the job done, but with some quirks. There is a lot of unused space on the top of the strip that seems like it could have another outlet. The switch is on the side in sort of a weird place but I can get used to it. The plug is a square and the cord comes out of it at a fixed 45 degree angle to the right, so it doesn't work in all outlet situations. These work, but they don't win any design awards from me.

Basic and cheap

These couldn’t be any more basic and cheaply made. I would have expected more from GE. They don’t even have an indicator light to let you know cord is working. I’m not even sure it’s a surge protector vs just a power strip. I wouldn’t but then again nor would I recommend. Spend more and get a better quality, these are junk!

Finally no "on" light

I do not need a light to show me a power strip is on. I don't want the light pollution shining in my bedroom or frankly anywhere else. I want a plan looking thing that fade into the background. This is what I want.

Works good behind furniture without bending

I like these because i got them to put behind furniture without worrying about bending the cord and they work just fine
