Works great!

I have purchased these before at a building supply so I knew they were ok for what I needed when I bought them off an Amazon seller. They arrived fast, did the job, locked well and they last long without rust.

Good price for the quality

As other reviewers mentioned, they don't fit as tight as you can pull them (in most situations). These are/would be great for anything that is not perfectly round, like an exhaust pipe, or around something that has a little bit of give to it around an exhaust pipe, like a high temperature fabric or heat shield (what I used it for). I would not use these for attempting to tie down header wrap. I work in quality control, and the few millimeters of slack before it locks again would just be too much to be effective.

I purchased this product in order to keep me dog from destroying his crate. He would just eat the plastic ones and would bend his crate to unimaginable distortion. He has not yet been able to break through these but they don't really go as super tight as plastic which makes perfect sense. He did manage to snap one by bending the bar it was holding till it snapped. He is only an 8 month old so I'm hoping the others will hold better.

Stainless Steel Cable Ties

This turned out to be one of the best products I have purchased on Amazon recently. I needed to hold some heat shields in place on my cars engine and couldn't find stainless steel wire ties locally. Amazon to the rescue! Product is self latching or locking, but I cut off the excess length with a special cutter and bent the small part sticking out back on itself to prevent someone getting cut on it. Love it!

Easy to use, tough and look good.

I bought the 10/bag because of previous reviews regarding the ties not holding properly. Every one that I pulled out held fast. These are easy to use, look good and are tough. I even closed one just a couple mm to see if I could force it to release or break it... I could not make it release or break it without destroying the strap.

Does not lock in the tight position!

SS cable ties have many desireable applications and should essentially last a long time. The only problem with this brand/ design is that once you tighten it, it backs off from its tight position, thus leaves a slack. This design works only with friction caused by the tie backing off its original tight position. Needs to be redesigned with ridges in the metal strap so it locks in the exact position you lock it in.
