Love the jacket, but inner pockets not sewn

Really love this jacket. I wanted something super lightweight but warm, and this definitely works. My one complaint is that I just noticed this jacket’s inner pockets are not sewn shut at the bottom, so they’re not pockets, just a weird extra strip of fabric. If I’d noticed when I first purchased, I would have returned and replaced it. Unfortunately they’re out of stock right now, and I have to decide whether to keep as is or to return it and wait an unknown time for a replacement. What a bummer. Everything else seems great though… I’m sure this was a fluke. But lesson learned, check pockets when first receiving it. I want to make a note about size… I sized up to a medium because all the comments said to size up, and I have gained probably 15-20 lbs since pre-pandemic. (Although the weight gain is fat, and I lost a lot of muscle as well, as I was hyper athletic before the pandemic. I write this as reference just because fat gain is a different kind of bulkiness.) I’m about 135-140 lbs right now, 5’4”. Medium works fine, but I will say that there’s a lot of room in the midsection. It’s fitted in the bust but Very roomy for me in the midsection. I’m sure fit depends a lot on how you carry weight. And I do have long arms and torso for my height. But I wanted to say that I did try before you buy on the short version of this jacket in a small and medium. They both fit, the medium fits more loosely. I could still wear a sweatshirt in the small with no issues. The small is basically a bit more of a fitted cut. It’s snug in the bust and shoulders for me, but not uncomfortably so. And it’s nice to have the waist be closer to my actual waist. I just want to say to people that if you Definitely wear a small in women’s, then don’t rule out the small size if you prefer a more fitted cut. I’ll keep this medium, but I bought a short version in small as well.

Great Winter Coat!

The reviews for this coat were mixed... I gave it a try, and LOVE this coat!!! It is well made, very light and very warm. I bought it for a winter trip to Europe that we have not yet taken as I wanted a lighter, packable coat that would also be warm enough. This is a wonderful coat! I have worn it 7 or 8 times to walk my dog. Our temps have been in the 20s up to 40s. It is super warm and comfortable! I even wore it one night in cold light rain and stayed dry and cozy. The hood is awesome! Fake fur lined, warm and fits well. I wear a light cotton turtle neck and a light fleece underneath and have at times been almost too warm when walking. It also seems to do a great job of keeping out the wind. I am 5'3" tall and weigh 120 pounds. I bought the medium and have room to wear a heavier top if needed. It is not a loose fitting coat and I thought about going up to a large, but, would probably swim in that. In my opinion, Columbia coats run small. I have a couple of Lands End coats and jackets and find their smalls to be roomy on me. I am VERY happy with this purchase!!!

So warm!

I love this jacket so much! It is great for standing outside at recess. My favorite part is the hood. It covers the upper half of my leg and I love it!
