Great Quality

I love this game! I got it for my granddaughter. It’s great for doing math in your head! It makes kids think of different math equations. The box was also well made. I love it that virtually all the pieces are “shut in the box”!

I shut the box!!!

Pros: portable, fun, everyone can play, quick turns so no time for impatience, helps with strategic thinking and simple math, and when you do shut the box, it’s awesome! Cons: none. After a friend introduced this game to our group one night, all 3 of us ordered it in the midst of playing.

Definitely cheap, but that's ok!

This is NOT something you wanna keep on your desk to "look nice" or anything. The dowels are flimsy, the chain fell off almost immediately, and the handle is now missing. But that's actually okay with me. I take this to the bar and now a few people are huddled around my little table and we're all participating together. Who knew all it took for a bunch of grown men to be entertained was a couple dice (dice are actually pretty well-made) and a box?

Very Fun Game, OK Quality - Recommended

We bought this Shut-The-Box and theMelissa & Doug Shut-the-Box version after playing the game at a recent family reunion. The Melissa & Doug version is slightly larger and a little higher quality than this one. This is a great game for almost any age and can include almost any number of players. Here are my observations: Game Play (Simplified) - * Players roll two dice (at first) and flip down numbers that equal the sum of the total rolled * Some rule variants allow the use of only one die after 7, 8, & 9 are flipped down * Each player continues until he can no longer flip down a tile and then adds up the total of the remaining numbers * The box passes to the next player and the winner is the one with the lowest score (unless someone "shuts the box" and automatically win by successfully flipping all of the numbers down) This version includes - * A Good Looking Game Box; this has an intentionally rustic appearance, but it will not stand up to much abuse * Dice; the dice are small and simple appearing This is a very fun party game and even younger players can quickly learn to play. Recommended! CFH

Shut the box, will it stay shut?

Very nice, clasp on front is a very loose so doesn't actually do anything, shame, as this detracts from it being a secure travelling box.

A pretty good travel game.

I played this game years ago in a local pub, had a lot of fun with it, and am happy to own my own set now. The quality is okay, but the tiles don't always stay where they should be, as the gap between the horizontal bars is just a bit wider than the length of the tiles in places. Consequently, the tiles can easily slip down between the bars. It is annoying! One has to flip the tiles with a very light touch so that they don't fall through! I thought it would be really well made, but it is not as good as I had hoped. Still, it is okay. The little box size is nice for travel and the hardware seems durable. I'm happy with it, just not ecstatic.

Great game...minor quality issue.

Sticker inside box was applied poorly (a few wrinkles) but the game itself is a ton of fun. Even my 4 year old loves to play. A bit smaller than the other versions but doesn't distract at all from the fun.

Much more than I was expecting. Love the game shut the box makes a great drinking game and this edition makes a great present.
