3M N95 Respirator Filter works great and is cost effective

The 3M N95 Respirator Filter Along with the 3M parts listed below make a fantastic N95 filter system for working in my shop. 3M Filter Adapter 603 3M 501 Filter Retainer I use this combination for filtering particles such as dust grinding sanding and even sweeping the floor. After you obtain your 3M or compatible mask, you can use this system and have an extremely effective particulate filter system. With the 10 packs of 3m N95 filters it is also very cost effective.

3M is no doubt a great company and its products speaks for them. Nothing different with these filter as well they are very well made and works great. I do wood working and sometimes also do spray jobs to finish the wood. I usually use these filters to protect me from dust particles and I use the filter cartridge made for paint along with this N95 filters during spraying. Used this setup for over an year and it worked great. Its my second pair. ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE. DATE ON THESE FILTER PADS ARE MANUFACTURING DATE AND FILTERS SHELF LIFE IS 5 YEARS FOR THE DATE ON THESE PADS. CONFIRMED BY 3M TECHNICAL SUPPORT.

I haven't gotten Covid yet, knock on wood, so...

...I literally have no complaints. I also don't know how to compare them positively? Again, I haven't gotten Covid yet, so something must be working. I use them with a Nasum half-mask respirator (not an M3 half-mask; hard to get those with the front-line demand so high), and they work well. HOWEVER, as the Nasum half-mask respirator DOES technically have a valve, that means it's the kind of mask that protects ME FROM YOU, but not You from Me, so I still wear disposable N95 masks underneath my respirator. It's just an added layer of protection, as I don't like that the cloth/disposable masks aren't an airtight fit.

Great filters, great price.

Filters were perfect except for one. One of my N95 filters had a hole in it. Looked like it got too close to something hot during packaging or production. Kind of like when you hold synthetic fiber in front of a heat gun. Hole was about 6.2mm wide and went through all but one layer of the filter. Other than the one faulty filter, no problems at all.

Know what mask they’re meant for

When I ordered these, I didn’t realize what mask they were intended for. I have thought of returning them but haven’t. I think maybe I can use one or two in a cloth mask with a pocket for a filter.

Great filter but is NOT a stand alone product. Please read for recommendations.

These are only filter pads. To use them you will need a 3M half mask (for example 6500 or 7500 models) PLUS a filter holder (3M number 603) PLUS a transparent cover (3M number 501). IF you have all these parts then it becomes a NIOSH N95 approved filter system which fits very good and is durable. The advantage is, that these filter pads are cheaper to replace, then the complete sets like 2071 or even more the 2297 (though the last one even is P100 with nuisance filter, a total different quality filter). If you have to replace the filters often (because of dust while working) or to add it as a protector to a different filter then these pads make sense. Just do your maths and know your demands. I highly recommend the 3M silicone half mask 7500 plus the P95 (2071) or the P100 (2097) or the P100 with nuisance filter (2297) as the mask plus two filters (come as two in one sealed package) give you a re-usable highly efficient piece of protection in those special times .

Ordered twice-both expired

When both orders arrived I discovered the filters were well past their expiry date. While I understand that these filters are in high demand during COVID-19, I would have appreciated knowing they were old stock before ordering.
