Excellent alternative to recessed lighting

We no longer wanted a typical downward facing recessed light in one area of our home and decided to install this adjustable spotlight in its place in order to highlight artwork on a nearby wall. It worked perfectly! It was very easy to install, the full horizontal rotation as well as up/down adjustment made it possible to focus the light where we wanted, and the adjustable lumens was a real plus to create just the right effect. Would definitely recommend.

The product title doesn't match the product description.

I ordered these because the title of the product says: Selectable Color: Soft White, Cool White and Daylight - Pre-Mounted Trim - 50W Equivalent - 45 Year Life - 540 Lumen - High CRI. The actual description that I noticed after receiving them shows 75W equivalent- 850 Lumens. Much brighter than I wanted. Going to try to make these work because the return process is too much of a hassle.

Easy to install

Live on a lake. Lights are aimed at trophy bass. Even with the direct light going toward the wall the room really lights up. The toggle different lighting colors is amazing. Really glad I made this purchase.

OK but ...

If you like a dimmed low lighting, this one flickers albeit at low dim. It looks fine, easy to install and a solid white (none of this off shade of white). It works fine down to 50% dim. After that, it's a roll of the dice.

Ugly permanent label shows!

This is a potentially great product, marred by one bonehead decision: For some reason Feit printed the legal disclaimers, UL label, etc. on a part of the fixture that is visible when in use! We tried several ways to remove this printing and did manage to lighten it up a bit, but as you can see it's still prominent.

Great idea to be able to change color

Works Exceptionally Well

I bought this gimbal mount light to convert into a snoot in order to illuminate an alcove in an otherwise fairly dark hallway. I works perfectly!! The light fixture connects to existing wiring by way of a polarized plug and the fixture is held in place by two spring clips that attach to the existing housing mounted in the ceiling. It couldn't be simpler to swap out the existing light fixture for this one. My DIY snoot works perfectly, illuminating only the desired area instead of bathing the entire hall in light. The snoot was accomplished with a PVC coupling, black paint and some crazy glue (credit to Dean Sharp the house whisperer for the snoot idea.) That said, this fixture, without the snoot, would also serve very well as "wall washer" type lighting is so desired. IMHO this Feit downlight is a very good fixture with many possible uses. I highly recommend it!!
