so far works great - only used it a few times since Thanksgiving

timer seem to work great so far, the sound is good, loud is fine, if you are watching tv in the next room, and the tv not too loud, low sound is fine too, if you are doing anything in the kitchen . the clock is fairly good, but don't keep accurate after a week , may be off a minute or 2 so it not that big of deal, easy to set any of the timers and use

Love this timer! Easy to read display and loud enough to hear when in another room. Would definitely recommend!

Some great features; make sure you get a complete item

I want to like this timer but I’m annoyed that I got an incomplete product. The one I got didn’t have the batteries OR the kickstand. The best feature of this device is the ability to time four different events at the same time. We often have to use multiple timers when cooking so this will come in very handy. Other nice features include the ability to count up or down, recall the last time, and use it as a regular clock with either 12 or 24 hour time. There are some other thoughtful features as well. There is a circular tab that the manufacturer calls a wallhanging tab but I put a lanyard on it and will hang it around my neck when grilling. There are also two magnets that are strong enough to hold it securely to a metal surface. Right now we have it on our refrigerator. The packaging says that there is a kickstand with the product but as noted above, mine didn't come with a kickstand. The device runs on two AAA batteries which the packaging says are included, however the one I got did not have any batteries with it, either. The alarm is very loud, so loud that it annoyed my wife even on the quietest setting. There is also a mute setting. The timer is also considerably larger than other timers I’ve had at 3.5 inches wide x 2.75 inches tall x 7/8 inch deep. That can be either an advantage or disadvantage, depending on your situation. If you have limited space, that might be a problem, but if space isn’t a problem, the large size means that the display is large, too, so you can see the time from some distance from the timer (or without reading glasses if you are farsighted). The first time I tried to recall the last timer setting, I had a bit of trouble, but I figured it out and haven’t had any problems since. The recall feature is one that I will use frequently since I’m going to use this when I do timed stretches after exercising. I did that today and it worked just fine. To recall the last setting, you simply press the Start/Stop button twice, once to stop the previous timed event, and again to recall the last time. Several other reviews indicate that the users had problems setting the clock. That’s one issue I didn’t have. The instructions on the back of the packaging indicate to “press and hold ‘Clock’ and use … buttons to alter the time. Press ‘Clock’ to save.” That process worked fine for me. To change from 12 to 24 hour clock mode, you have to "increase hour value past 12 hours". I had to run the clock around twice to get it set as I wanted it. That was annoying. According to the packaging, the company is based in Minnesota but the device is made in China. Overall, I think this is a good product. The multiple alarms will come in very handy. The ability to easily recall the last time is a great feature, one that I will use a lot. It’s disappointing that I got an incomplete item. I recommend this product to anyone who needs to time multiple events at the same time, but caution them to review the product when you get it to ensure your product is complete.

Good timer, not just for kitchens, but don't trust the clock

The Escali kitchen timer does most of what I want from a timer. It gives me the time of day (if I set it to the time of day), and it also gives me the flexibility I may need for timing multiple tasks. For example, I may set a 3 hour timer for chicken that I’m cooking in my Sous Vide oven. When the timer for the chicken hits 20 minutes, I may start making a salad and toasting some almonds to put on the green beans that I’ll serve with dinner. The almonds may burn if I put them on the heat for too long, so a watchful eye, instead of a timer, will let me stop them before they burn. The beans came in a frozen packet, ready to boil or put into the microwave. I choose to boil them for a few minutes, and set the timer for 5 minutes. I’ll set the timer for ten minutes, giving my family time to get ready for dinner, and I tell Alexa to broadcast the ‘it’s time for dinner’ message to the other Amazon devices in the house. During this time, the first alarm goes off, telling me that it’s time to take the chicken out. I remove the chicken from the bag, drain the liquid, dry the chicken, and put it in a pan to quick sear. The ‘bean’ alarm goes off, so I remove the beans from boiling water and prepare them so I can arrange them on the plates. I put the toasted almonds on top of the beans. The seared chicken goes onto the plate next to the beans. On the way to the table, I stumble, and the plates fall out of my hand and onto the floor. It’s a good thing that my local pizza place delivers. The point is this – more than one alarm can be handled at the same time. This can (and does) come in handy. It’s also useful in a bathroom – for coloring hair, it’s a real help, because it can tell you when to rinse the color off the hair. It may be useful for timing the use of cosmetics or some skin care regimens, or even for timing how long you brush your teeth. At first, the timer seemed quite loud – but it’s easy to adjust the volume. The digits are large enough to be easy to read. In all, this is a pretty good timer. I haven’t used the kickstand, but I suspect that the magnetic back makes it easy to stick to the side or front of your refrigerator. I may get another. This timer has been useful in a bathroom for timing certain tasks. For example, it does a good job timing how long a person brushes his (or her) teeth. If you color your hair, this timer is helpful for timing how long your color is in your hair. After leaving this running for weeks, it became obvious that the clock is fast. After a few days, you probably have to reset the clock, if you want to see the CORRECT time. If this review was helpful, please let Amazon know.
