Im using it for garbage disposal

This is a simple flat toggle style switch. It does light up at night. It does not come with a face plate. Which was ok because I want a black plate for my decor.

Illuminated 3 way light switch paddle

It's kinda weird - but these are so comforting. It's nice to see the light switch lit on the wall in a dark hallway or room. Hubby reports they were easy to install - but he is a skilled electrician. He says if you have a minimum understanding of electrical switches you can install these. (not me - I'd hire somebody - just being honest). Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible - so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). Those numbers used to fluctuate over time - up and down but I noticed that they stopped updating regularly - perhaps to phase them out. I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - nearly 6,000 reviews, viewed over 50,000 times, nearly 24,000 likes.

You get what you pay for

These are priced attractively and they do work as described. The switches are quiet and have nice tactile feedback, and they’re about as easy to install as any comparable switch. The look and feel of these is noticeably cheaper than brand name switches such as Leviton, Eaton, Legrande, and others. The metal parts on back are made of thinner sheet metal parts, and the mounting posts are less sturdy. These use gas tubes to generate the orange glow that illuminates the switch plate. It’s not unattractive, but gas tubes have a tendency to flicker, and they will likely lose the gas that makes them glow in about 8-10 years. I decided to abandon these and go with longer-lasting LED illuminated switches, with a bigger brand name manufacturer. Yes, I’m paying more for them, but the lighting will last much longer, the white glow is more aesthetically pleasing, and the switches are of unmistakably better design and construction.

Seems well made - but it does have some residual leakage when switched off

Product seems well constructed, easy to install. My only issue is that when it is in the "OFF" position a small amount of power still is passed. Just enough that my door light has a glow to it when it is off... I suspect that is the power that is allowed to pass to illuminate the switch itself ...

Good so far, but the lit picture is not of this item

They are working well and I like them, but only 4 stars due to the misrepresentation in the pictures. The picture in the ad showing the red glow is not of this product. In my pictures you can clearly see the LED light is in the top right of the switch. Also when standing and walking up to the switch you can clearly see the LED between the gap in the switch and the body on the top right side. Not a huge deal but if you were expecting a LED in the center with a centered glow, as shown in the ad, this is not it.

Save Your Money These Are Junk

To preface this the first failure was 32 days after purchase. These are a classic off shore (read china) example of total garbage. 4 out of 6 in the pack have fallen apart. The rocker pivot points let go as the plastic frame retaining it is of such poor quality plastic it stretches and can not longer function as the pivot anchor. Save your money and shop the big box home improvement stores as they will stand behind their products. Less and less will I be purchasing from chinazon.com
