Rubber coating makes this a great weight plate

I bought this because it was fairly cheap. Any old Olympic weight would have sufficed. I have been pleasantly surprised how much better this plate is over any I’ve ever seen in all my years in gyms. The design shape is almost like a steering wheel. Very well shaped for holding and handling. The greatest thing is the rubber coating.

Good weights

Good weights - I’ve reordered more - one caution I’d offer is some came with an oily residue on them - so keep that in mind before sitting them on anything the residue may transfer to.

Good grip weights

The media could not be loaded. If you're just starting off, these grip plates are the way to go. It's more adaptable since it may be used as a barbell weight or as a freestanding weight. The rubber wrap appears to be of high quality and does not smell. It has a solid grip and I use it for over-the-head triceps training. The rubber has a small outgassing scent, but it's not unpleasant. For my expectations, the weights' precision was rather good. One plate weighs 1oz, while the other weighs 5.2oz. The 50mm center hole on these plates sits securely against my bar, making barbell squats, bench presses, and other activities safer. The surface is a black virgin rubber covering that, unlike other iron counterweight plates, will not harm the floor. Because the inside is made of cast iron, it will not shatter even if dropped on the ground. The grip plate has three holes and grooves at the grip holes that can accommodate the fingertips. Snatch training serves the same purpose as kettlebells and dumbbells. The curl bar's ideal companion is the weight plate, which may focus on exercising upper limb muscles, waist and abdominal muscles, reducing muscle lines, and increasing muscular endurance.

Durable

Its made with natural rubber wrapping that helps protect the metal inside from wear and tear allowing it to last longer. The weight plate is easily worn and the metal oxidizes after contact with sweat which affects the weight of this plate. The interior is made of solid cast iron which is strong and durable and does not get deformed due to prolonged use which gives you a longer service life. While other encapsulated weight plates filled with cement will be deformed after a few uses.

Strong odor

These are decent, but the smell is SO strong. My entire basement has smelled like a tire shop for the last two weeks. I really hope that goes away.
