The connection screws are not very sturdy. Connection terminals did not seem easily accessible.

The picture doesn't show it, but it does have a cable clamp.

I had a yellow extension cord that was missing the female end, so I found this one. I didn't have any problems with the base screws, nor installing the wires. I cut the overall cable insulation back about 3/4", and the individual wires' insulation about 3/8". That was just long enough to fully insert the stripped ends w/o any exposed wires. This extension cord will be permanently attached to the garage refrigerator power cord, so I don't care about weather/waterproof.

If you have an extension cord that you ran over or for some other reason think it's time to get rid of??? DON'T 5 minutes and it's back in business with this. It's well built and well worth your time to keep that old cord...replace the ends and you'll bring it back to life. I wish I could give this 6 stars.

Quick and easy

Decent as these go. You can still tighten them too far and damage the conductors so be careful.

Seems like a good strong candidate to build an extention or repair a damaged one

I only gave it 3 for weatherproof because it's not been tested. I suspect it is weatherproof but not waterproof, which is different. I tried to make my install as weatherproof as possible, but it won't get tested as we live on the central coast of California. The sun is the test, so some 3M 303 sunscreen protection should take care of that.
