Better than plain steel

I bought a few of these stainless steel elbows plus some straight pipe sections to make a chimney for a small wood-burning stove that I use at my oceanfront camp site. I grew tired of replacing the plain steel pipe every 2 to 3 years due to the rapid corrosion that occurs due to the salt spray in the air. The pipe is showing a little rust staining after less than a year, suggesting that this may not be a high grade of stainless steel. However, it's doing much better than the inexpensive plain steel pipe I used in the past, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that it lasts long enough to warrant the much higher initial cost. Thicker gauge, magnetic alloy.

I like that this is a heavier gauge than the one I bought locally. If fits well and not too hard on the drill bits. This grade of stainless steel is magnetic. I am told the non magnetic alloy is more resistant to rust.
