Works well, but regulates to 11.7 or 11.9v only

I use this device to power my fish finder using a Rigid 18V drill battery. It works well, and powers the fish finder for several hours on just one 3AH battery. For the price it's pretty darn good, however, I would have liked the voltage to be up in the 12.9-13.8v range which is "industry standard" for automotive voltages in the US. There is also a slight amount of interference that it puts off which causes the fish finder to go wacky once in a while. This is solved by moving the regulator so it's not close to the screen (It's in an ice fishing bag, so it's not that easy to do).

Outputting 8V instead of 12V from an 18V setup

I'm not sure if my step down is defective or just isn't right for my application. I used it to step down an 18V Powerwheels setup to a 12V for some LED lights and accessories, but under load (of just a couple small low-watt LED lights) it was putting out roughly 9V. Without a load it registers as 12V on the nose. I'm going to do some more testing to see if it's the device or just that it doesn't work for my application. Super simple to hook up, though, and seems to be a very durable build.c

Perfect for this application

Perfect for this application, excellent construction and easy to use. This was to install LEDs light strip on a boat ramp (ya big fancy one). The boat is wire 24VDC and the best LED for the application where 12VDC. We did need only 3 amps max but this unit being all set and seal that make the chose a no brainner. We wire it an second and is working nice and cool. That thing can't be better in this application. And it's a cheap solution for stepping down the DC voltage. Very good, highly recommanded

The device and box said it puts out 12V, but the output was only 5V.

I thought a warning to others would be a good idea. Perhaps an inline fuse as well

Not sure how to rate this item, in short, it's violently intolerant of reversed polarity on the 24 volt side. Yes I blew mine up. I just ordered a replacement I will update review after I wire it for a second time. I thought a warning to others would be a good idea. Perhaps an inline fuse as well.

Used this on my daughters Power Wheels that I upgraded to 24v. Reduces lights etc to 12 volts and works great. I running about 5 lights and a horn with no issues after a few months. Very happy with it. Wires are a good size so you dont have to worry about them being frayed etc.

Works as advertised. It's being used to step down 24VDC solar panel output to 12VDC to keep a battery bank charged
