Solid and Good Looking except one Flaw

So, I probably would have given this product five stars if it weren’t for its packaging and shipping issues. Cutting to the chase, due to how this product is packaged then most of the time it will arrive damaged in some way or another. Mainly at the joints (see picture). More details, then read on... I bought this for our new puppy and the area had a wide opening. This gate was perfect and looks good (see pictures). There are a few instructional items I should mention. 1. You don’t really need a stud to mount this to a wall. Drywall anchors and you are good to go. 2. This will take some time to mount to a wall, adjust, figure out, etc... In other words, expect to spend hours versus an hour or less. 3. The metal push button will likely get lodged into the space. DO NOT PANIC!!! This is how the whole thing interlocks with each panel. When this happens, simply grab some long needle nose pliers and pull it forward. Problem solved. 4. To push the buttons for the modular panels, I recommend those push pin tools used to unhindge a door (see picture). 5. I suggest using felt round discs under it to use on hardwood floors (see picture). 6. Likely a plastic joint will crack or break upon arrival. You have choices here. See if you can put it all together how you want and jump in and do it. Then you can either live with it or do as I did and request a return. Swap the piece and return. This IS a pain, but the whole thing is modular that it’s not too bad or impossible. In my case the joint for the gate was broken and I easily replaced it. Interestingly enough the replacement gate also arrived damaged but on a different panel I did not care about (see picture). I hope this helps others. Enjoy! Oh yeah, I do recommend this product just expect to put in a tiny bit more time compared to a normal gate. Take it from a father of three who never imagined he would be putting up yet another baby gate! Anyway, the extra time spent is worthwhile for this good looking gate that is highly modular and easy to reconfigure.

Good product. Weak joints.

Works well to gate the stairs in our tri-level. We have used it for the last few months successfully. It works well. Although we have had two of the corner joints break in the last couple weeks. We had an extra panel so the first one time I just swapped out the Joint. The second time I had to tape the joint.

Nice but expensive

I like this baby gate a lot, and we use it all the time. Sturdy and safe, even when freestanding. I would love to get another one for my home office but I just can’t justify the cost. I feel like $80 would a more accurate price for this, not $160.

This is definitely a great gate for keeping my 5 month old son contained. We use it more of a barrier rather then a complete circle because the circle is just too small without buying any additional sides. But it is pretty sturdy on its own for right now- once he is starting to crawl or can grab at it more it would be safer to anchor it to the wall. But i do like the mesh sides and it is a sleek look for the living room.

Sturdy

Sturdy and works great with additional panels! I love how easily the gate opens and closes! My daughter does well playing in it while I run on the sprinter. Other times we just use three of the panels to keep her from going down the hall. The first one we ordered had a panel that wouldn’t clip into the gate because it was made at a bad angle but I contacted Amazon and they shipped a new one (I received it in two days!) and I shipped the other one back.

A good solution with a major flaw

I bought this product as a barrier around my fireplace. I like it and it will do the job...with one big flaw. The wall connecting pieces aren't designed to fit over trim (because then you wouldn't be able to screw the top piece in) so I had to mount the gate above the trim. This means the gate is suspended in the air and it sags and moves a little. My uncle who is a carpenter is going to build wood pieces with a groove to hold it steady, but for a $150 solution I'm a little disappointed to have to do that. In the photo you can see that we had to temporarily use cans of soup to keep the gate from sagging in the middle.
