Certainly not 4 lbs

It’s a very pretty feeder but I purchased because of the claim to hold 4 lbs of seed. There is no way it’s 4 lbs .. maybe 2, but certainly not 4. For the price, it is not worth it … Lowe’s has comparable.

Great birdfeeder but be careful

I bought it to replace one that looked exactly like it. What I will recommend though is the S hook you hang it on bend it to where the gap is closer because heavy winds blew my first one off and the bottom brackets broke from impact. However dispite that I do love this birdfeeder it does hold about 4 + cups of birdseed. It accommodates the small and large birds. 06-25-2020 Since this first review the circle hook that screws onto the top snapped off. Maybe a defect I don’t know so not happy with that and since it’s past the return time I’m screwed. Still like the birdfeeder and will buy another one to see what happens. Just a little disappointed in that.

Poor quality and poor quality control

Unlike our 2 Good Directions feeders and 2 bird houses already purchased, this feeder is not anywhere near the quality of their other products. Bad copper paint, poorly applied, with overspray not the same color of the rest of bell top. In addition, the color of the bell top is not even close to the color of the bottom of the feeder. At this price, we would have expected a much higher quality. The birds don’t care about anything but their seeds, buy having paid so much, I cannot tell anyone to go ahead and take a chance on what you will get.

Good, but needs better quality control

Although the birds and I like this sturdy feeder a lot, it is not quite as pictured, which disappointed me. Pictures show it with a shiny protective finish, but mine arrived dull with just bare metal exposed. Consequently, after just 6 weeks of use it is rusting rapidly. Also, one end of the hanging loop was not welded completely, which left a hole that ants enter into. So when I unscrew the loop to refill the feeder, a mass of big black ants come running out. On the plus side, though, it is very easy for birds to land on and several can feed simultaneously. I especially like the screw top for refilling, as feeders with lift-off lids and metal cables never last long. This one seems very durable.

The birds love it...and so do we.

The birds love the feeder, it’s very attractive. I wish it was a little sturdier. Until we added the Arundale squirrel baffle (which stopped them cold) the feeder was knocked to the ground twice and broke. We replaced it with another and added the baffle and we are good!

Makes a very attractive decoration

This is a very attractive bird feeder. There's one problem in my yard. The circular feeding perch is located as to allow pigeons to perch and it didn't take long for them to realize this. They've been feeding off the ground but they're not welcome at the bird feeder. My $15 plastic feeder doesn't allow the unwanted guests. I will keep the Good Directions bird feeder for decorative reasons.
