Designed to help keep your spine in line.

This wedge is firm and won't cause one's bottom to sink into it. It works great for both soft chairs as well as hard wood chairs. It works great in car bucket seats as well. The only thing that would be great is if the cushion was a couple inches longer for under the thighs.

Not as firm as I was hoping but it's shape and moderate support has helped me a lot.

Not as firm as I was hoping. It's slightly firmer than packing material you receive with shipments. I wanted to use it in my car to adjust my position raising my hips higher than my knees to relieve my sciatic pain. It helps a little but not much. The foam compresses under my weight (less than 160 lbs.) using two raises me too high. I had to update my post because I found so many other uses for these foam cushions as my sciatica progressed and finally started to improve. The shape helped as a wedge to support me as I slept and using it under my knees when I lie down. Depending where the pain is I can generally find a benefit from the cushion.

Good wedge for the price and effectively improves sitting posture

Good seat wedge for the price although somewhat short in length and "sinks" in the center after only a few weeks of use. I am a physical therapist and believe the seats of most chairs are not angled correctly to promote good back posture. Before purchasing the wedge I would often elevate the back of my seat with a rolled up towel, scarf, jacket, etc. The wedge is definitely better than nothing and I do use it every day. I gave 2 away to friends with back problems and I'm not sure that they like or use them. But I have to say as I sit here on my chair with the wedge on the seat, I think I should increase the rating to 4 out of five since it does decrease my back pain and allow me to sit longer and enjoy reading the paper. I do recommend this product.

I Wish it Were a Little Wider

The height at the back is just shy of 3", and it keeps my keyboard at a very good angle, which is what I want it to do. Because it's not quite as wide as my keyboard ( it's 15" and my keyboard's almost 20"), the legs on the back of the keyboard don't really engage, so I have to adjust the keyboard now and again. (To be fair, I haven't taken the plastic off the wedge, so ....) However, occasional minor adjustments aren't a big deal, and overall, I like it. My keyboard's one of those ergomic ones, so it's got a wavy shape, leaving part of the wedge exposed, and I sometimes rest my elbow on that when I am thinking before I type - and the wedge is keeping its shape despite that. Especially if you have a 15" keyboard, I'd recommend this one.

At ease

When I received this in the mail I thought oh great I made a mistake I should have got a bigger one but this piece is so sturdy it does the exact job and I can use it in different places to relieve the pain in my back and shoulder which makes it show much easier during the day for me to move and stretch.

Used pre and post op for FAI impingment/ labral repair

This wedge has been an absolute life saver in the car and in seat that cause less than a 90 degree angle bend at your hip joint. I use this in the car and in my work chair. I also bring it with me anywhere I might encounter a chair that will cause a painful sitting angle. I severed from FAI impingement and labral pinching in my hip. This simple wedge reduced the pain while I was waiting for surgery and has been absolutely essential in my recovery. My physical tharapist recommended a wedge. The is better than a pillow because it creates a consistent angle and does get lumpy.

Super firm

WAY firmer that anticipated. Like styrofoam hard. I'm about 160 lbs, and when I sit on it, I think my butt compresses more than the cushion. I bought it to counter the fairly steep angle of my 2013 GTI driver seat. I figured I could cut it to fit the side bolsters and make a cover for it if it worked out, but I'm not sure it will. I'll give it a try, perhaps it'll loosen up a little. If it doesn't, I'm not sure how long I can stand sitting on it, but at least I'm not out much.

I can not find a cushion to work for my bad hip

main complaint is it is not 4"...3.5 at best....and the 12"dimension is just not wide enough....I now own 9 different cushions for the car and none of them work!

The cushion was as advertised except it was too soft for our purposes. Would recommend a memory foam for more firm support.

Cut these in half and use them for speakers

If you need a cheap way to angle your bookshelf speakers to your ears, these are great way to do use at a decent price that also absorbs vibrations.
